Re: 07 Ion 2 Driver's Side Auto Door Lock Issue

1- Are the other door locks working when using remotes? If none work then it may be a power, fuse, wiring or bcm issue. If doors lock/unlock with remotes except driver's door then it may be a power,...

Re: I Might Need New Plugs...

Search for waste spark ignition system here or on the web for how the S-series creates spark and doesn't seem to work with platinum plugs. Unless GM specs call for them, it's generally the rule to...

Re: I Might Need New Plugs...

If I'm not mistaken, stock plain plugs are gapped to 0.040". If an inexpensive plug gap isn't used, try a dime. At 0.053", if a dime fits easily into the gap, replace them. If you're trying to save...

Re: 2007 outlook xr front heater/ac blower motor

If you're willing to crawl around under the dash or remove the glove box for access to the blower motor then you can test the 12v line. Just connect a dvm with ground connecting to the plug ground,...

Re: Fuel Injector Tester cleaner kit EM276 whats your thoughts

A few members here created their own home made injector tester using a door bell transformer (120vac input, 16 vac output). Some skills needed to supply solvent under pressure. The ac voltage output...

Re: 2002 L200 Update

Was the family feud over who gets to drive your gravity defying car? The snapshot appears to reveal your car levitating upside down, perhaps resting lightly on the ceiling? My lips are sealed if this...

Re: Lights on Dash - Whats the problem?

The TPMS indicator may not be about low pressure as much as neglecting to replace dead sensors from battery depletion. Once a battery in a sensor assembly dies, tire pressure goes back to drivers...

Re: 07 ion starting problems

Tks for the clarity. Rockauto shows both one piece coil pack among the individual ignition coils (coil over plug configuration). Although not likely for all four ign coils to fail during the delayed...

Re: 07 ion starting problems

ruley73, are you stating the '07 Ions don't use an ignition coil pack with an ignition control module? The coil pack/icm are on every 2.2L engine unless a major change occurred for '07s on.

Re: 07 ion starting problems

With continuity tests verifying crank sensor wiring intact, did the two error codes go away, are intermittent or always displayed on a reader?

The 2.2L engines seem to have a recurring issue...

Re: A/C sometimes blows hot air & sometimes cold..don't think its the compressor...

I re-read the post and agree this may be another scroll control valve issue. If highway driving or above a certain speed results in cold ac but low speed stop and go results in warm air then the scv...

Re: L100 rear drum brakes question (diagram needed)

GM service manuals are not as descriptive when leaving out snapshots, line drawings, photo illustrations and engineering views from older manuals. Basic black and white minimalist drawings. I tend to...

Re: A/C sometimes blows hot air & sometimes cold..don't think its the compressor...

"The most expensive path some mechanics take.." is a polite way for unscrupulous people to profit from many car/truck/suv owners unfamiliar with ac repairs. Replacing the compressor is the most...

Re: Just died 5 times at stop lights...

Spark on one or both coils means the pcm is working. The pcm works only if the crank sensor works. No crank sensor = no pcm operation = no fuel pump, no spark on any coil and no injector pulses...

Re: What is causing the heater hose to come loose on my 2003 L-200?

When each hose came off and reconnected, did you try pulling the hose off to ensure each remained connected? A locking tab at 6 o'clock position is depressed to release these quick couplers, sliding...

Re: Just died 5 times at stop lights...

I dump any unused fuel in my 2.5 gallon container into the car just to keep it from laying around unused. Perhaps this may help by periodically dumping gas containers into vehicles then refilling...
