Re: What makes the AC not cold enough?

You could grab a hood pad from a donor SL2 or SW2. The SL and SL1's did not come with one.

Re: Looking for Red fenders and bumper cover for 97 SL2 (Paint code WA9544)

You're probably not wrong but I consider them separate harnesses with the common point being the UHJB. When I swapped out my trans and engine I recall that I unplugged it at the UHJB and moved...

Re: Thermostat with housing any good?

Keep your original housing in case you need it in the future. Some aftermarket housings don't work with the OEM thermostat. The thermostat will go in but there is a restricted flow and it will...

Re: Airbags 1996 Saturn SL4

You could shorten it to "Did you crash your Saturn" and then put a survey in the post to indicate if the airbags deployed (applies to front end collisions only).

Re: Looking for Red fenders and bumper cover for 97 SL2 (Paint code WA9544)

I believe you are referring to the engine harness which I agree is easy to replace. In his case he would be replacing the harness from the UHJB to the dash.

Re: and so it begins....

So this happened. The 99 SL2 is running well and will turn 23 in May. Same build date as my first born daughter.

I bought the car at 232K KM and the donor engine had 178K KM. So engine has 250K...

Re: Looking for Red fenders and bumper cover for 97 SL2 (Paint code WA9544)

If I recall correctly, that wire harness from the UHJB to the interior is not too bad to replace if you can find one from a donor car. I seem to remember switching mine out when I did the auto to...

Re: Ten Years on a $1,500.00 Used Car

I'm going to leave this here as I know all of us will appreciate the longevity and low cost of our cars more because of it.

My friend's 18 YO son just had a recent accident with their 2014 Mazda...

Re: Driver wiper arm

I've hung a few sets of S Series wiper arms on the fence of our local pick n pull for safe keeping in case I need one. There are not too many S Series going through the yards in the last couple...

Re: Driver wiper arm

The best source is from a donor car from local pick and pull. Sometimes you may find members on this forum or any of the Facebook groups that will have them from their personal stash or parts car.

Re: 2001 Saturn SL2 key duplication

This video may be helpful too; it shows how to replace the door switch.

Re: 2001 Saturn SL2 key duplication

The issue with the chattering locks is related to a bad lock switch on the door. It is a common problem and it is usually the drivers side as it gets more use. You can buy the switch; it is readily...

Re: 2002 SC2 power port

It's recommended to run a fused wire from the UHJB positive post through the firewall and tap a switched circuit to use a relay harness.

Look at post 8 of this thread to see how it is all mapped...

Re: Service Wrench and SES Light Behavior after Manual PCM Swap

That can likely be solved with a cluster swap however the mileage is stored in the cluster. A 97-98 analogue or a 98-99 digital cluster would likely work. The 98 model year had both analog and...

Re: Thinking about selling.

That's an odd combination. An SC2 with manual windows and no A/C. Sounds like torture to me. I'd love to have a GEN1 coupe though.

Re: Recharge Battery

You can permanently install a quick connect from you UHJB using the positive post and then just connect to the quick connect to plug in your charger or solar panel. I'd think you'd need a charge...

Re: Ever Seen One?

I'm not sure what I'm looking at exactly as the photo is pretty small. Is that a windshield wiper with an air flow director to increase wiper contact?

Re: Thinking about fog lamps

$60 for a pair of OEM fog lamps with brackets and bulbs and another $20-30 for the connectors is a pretty good deal in my opinion.

From there you have some options...

You could do it factory...

This is exactly where I would expect it to be in a GEN3 like yours at operating temperature. It'll sit there continuously while your moving at a good speed.

Re: P0131 code with hesitation when accelerating and poor gas mileage

How many miles on your SL SOHC? How long have you had it and what was the mileage when acquired?

Check for vacuum leaks as I mentioned this morning and Waiex mentioned this afternoon. Check both...
