Re: Parting out LW300
Going through my old LW stuff, I've got 2 V6 oil filters to the first comer for postage, or pick-up in Santee for those in Socal.

17 years and 175,000 miles and now she's off to Cars for Vets. She was a total PITA, but I will miss her.

Re: Parting out LW300
Runs, but you're not driving it away. Needs a radiator, front engine mount and brakes. Front crank seal leaks, tranny's got a very slow leak somewhere. Body's in good shape, interior is fair. 2 of...

Poor old LW finally has too many issues to fix, 4 new tires mounted on LW alloy's, grey cloth seats in fair shape, power drivers seat works.
If you want the tires, it's a swap for your worn tires...

Re: Is it possible to repair a BCM?
Sure, a BCM can be fixed.
Pull the BCM and build a fixture to input all the correct power and data inputs into the BCM.
Run all the contact points with an O-scope to find the failing or failed...

Re: Is the L-Series Really that Bad?
Love my L, it's a blast to drive, but that POS is the single defining reason I'll never, ever buy another GM product. 176K on the odo and I've got a stack of receipts 2" tall of all the stuff I've...

Re: Serpentine Tensioner Pulley Advice 3.0
Why not just replace the whole tensioner assembly, not much more expensive than just the pulley and bearing, and the tensioner spring probably needs replacement anyway if the bearing's bad

Re: Twim charged l200
The 4T-40E is only good up to about 190 ft lbs before you start blowing parts out the side. Recommend you do some upgrades there too.

Re: '01 LW parts
Old control arm out, new control arm in (with a bit of fidgeting and pounding cause the forward mount was tweaked a bit). Just need to get it aligned now.

Re: '01 LW parts
Yep, now that I've had a chance to look at it in the light of day it's not all the doom and gloom I saw at 9 last night. Lower control arm is broken at the back pivot point, new control arm ordered,...

Re: 3.6 LFX in 2000 era L-series?
Is it doable, sure with enough money. Is it smart, probably not, all that extra weight on the nose is gonna really change the driving dynamics and your new monster sleeper is gonna understeer like a...

Re: 2000 LW2 3.0 Auto Trans Problem
If you're gonna drop the pan to change the fluid and filter, might as well change the Pressure Control Solenoid (OCS) while you're in there. Known problem and can cause the symptoms you've described.

Re: 2000 LW2 3.0 Auto Trans Problem
Russet,
Not to nitpick, but it says "auto trans" in the title and the 3.0's didn't come with a manual, ever.
Skier,
As stated, first thing to do is check the fluid level.

Yes, the rear tail light assembly and as I recall the burn spots are about the size of a pencil eraser and you just have to bend the metal plate a little so the 2 plates don't touch. No, the center...
