Re: Looking for Red fenders and bumper cover for 97 SL2 (Paint code WA9544)

Re: comments- wheel bearing & stabilizer bar

As I understand it, the original design uses rubber bushings that ‘squirm’. The rubber doesn’t slip on the steel surfaces, but sticks to it.

Re: Trying to figure out if aftermarket motor mounts still suck in 2021

A Quick Fact-checking using the Amazing Internet!
Q: Value of $15,000 from 1998 to 2022?
$15,000 in 1998 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $25,578.04 today, an increase of $10,578.04 over...

Re: comments- wheel bearing & stabilizer bar

I. My understanding is that, at the microscopic level, once pitting and flaking starts, the bearing is on the way to failure. Without any way to regrease (often), it’s time to purchase another...

Re: What Is This?

It looks like half of a Nunchaku carried by NASA astronauts as a sort of a precursor to “Space Force”.

Re: Dip stick reading education..

In this case, the evil bots brought up a good thread...and I was thinking about the precision of letting a car sit overnight before checking the oil on a level surface.

Re: 'Rainman Ray' replace's a '01 SC1 Fuel pump

I never hesitate to push my SC2 the last few feet to the hoist.
Drama queen mechanic made a big deal of it and tried to overheat the starter.
I would take my car away from that man.
I am still on...

Re: Trying to figure out if aftermarket motor mounts still suck in 2021

1) It’s a lightweight engine without a balancer shaft.
2) The aftermarket mounts are made for summertime in Florida.
3) The entire Springhill NVH design team rode 500cc 2-cycle dirt bikes on the...

He speaks in code :snide: I don’t know what that means.

I’m not sure what is making noise in my MP3. Over its lifetime, the fluid’s been changed ~10 times. 5th gear is smooth and relatively...

Re: Add a Magnet to a Manual Transmission?

The automatic is a little more straightforward, with pressurized flow. The magnet can only help.
The manual works by the spinning gears “flinging” AmsOil TorqueDrive up into “funnels”. The funnels...
