Re: Under-seat jackpot!

lol, yep, time is the one thing I didn't have. It's rare for me to have two days off in a row, so there was no way I'd be able to do all that in one day. It's ok, though, there are some stains that...

Under-seat jackpot!

Found some treasures under the passenger seat. Sadly, no money or Hoffa's body.

If anyone read some of my first posts, I mentioned the car was owned by a smoker (or more than one) and I've been...

Re: 00 SL1 Shaking while Still with smooth idle.

I've noticed the same thing with my car, it idles great, especially after all the tune-up stuff I've done. Idles perfectly at 650 in gear and 700-750 in park. Gets almost 33MPG and shifts fine...

Re: Painting the Headliner?

Taking it in to have it done isn't a bad idea, but most shops will probably charge nearly normal garage labor rates, plus they'll charge more for fabric and supplies.

Doing it yourself can be...

Re: How did you get involved with Saturn

Ahh, you'd enjoy having a Fiero then. Same basic concept, except ALL the panels are plastic/fiberglass around a frame and having the engine in the rear really makes them fun in the winter because...

Re: Painting the Headliner?

I put up a thread here when I redid mine:

http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=268654

Couldn't find the exact color, but black goes well with it and it's not like everyone in the...

Re: Economy ? Seriously ?

You're close. The wiki page says the S-Series has a 12.8 gallon tank with an average 32mpg (automatic), which my math confirms. I hit almost 33mpg during one run.

I know someone's gonna tell me...

Occasional P0440 EVAP leak

I've had this nagging 0440 code that pops up nearly exactly every two weeks and at the same time of day on the same road every time it happens.

The first thing I started with was replacing the gas...

Re: 02' SL1 A/C, rear defroster, and recirculate buttons not working.

Don't feel embarrassed, even the most stout of mechanics forget something so simple on occasion.

Re: How do I keep this from popping out?

You got me curious now because I went out to look at mine and it's a solid piece, like it's pressed into the casting of the cover. Wish I had more info.

Re: Let The Headliner Repair Begin!

I agree! I kinda like the contrast too and that it matches the dash which is almost always black in these particular cars.

I did just install some radiant heat barrier underneath it, I don't know...

Re: Aftermarket A/C Condenser Fan Installation

From what I've been reading in the forums, that's just the way these cars were.

I would bet the Focus was priced higher than any of these Saturns and probably had more power with better parts,...

Trunk leak, need some links

Hey, guys. I've suddenly developed a trunk leak and I remember seeing on here about removing the quarter panel to replace the bad sealant, but I can't find anything about actually removing the...

Re: Where can I find this part?

Ignoring the bot above, start with Carpart.com. It'll list (most of) the local scrap yards in your area (I have one in my area that doesn't list on there). Even if it doesn't list your specific...

Re: Aftermarket A/C Condenser Fan Installation

Are you saying your cooling fan isn't coming on when you're at idle? For the coolant, the fan should come on just a tick past the halfway mark between C and H (220 degrees, give or take), but the...

That looks pretty good, keeps it clean and makes it easier to get your clamps on if you need a jump :D

Re: batt post and jumpstarting

And yet I continually see side post batteries corroded and nasty just like any other battery. Thanks, GM.

Re: A/C question

Mister Cee, if you're curious about how A/C systems work, the absolute short version is that it's not truly blowing out cold air, it's exchanging hot air and replacing it with cold air.

This is...

Re: Diagnosing A/C (again)

Alright, new compressor came in yesterday and I decided to test it.

I didn't actually install the compressor yet, I just set it down on top of the front cross member so I could reach the plug to...

Re: AC Compressor Rattle - With Video

While I was diagnosing my system, I watched a video of a guy removing the clutch off his A/C (on a Mustang) and his clutch plate was doing a similar thing. I think you can just replace the clutch...

Any interest in a used 2001 SL1 A/C compressor with bad clutch?

In the near-ish future, I'm going to be swapping my current A/C compressor in my 2000 SL1 for a new one and I'll just have the old one laying around (it's the style with the rear mounted hose and the...

You know, you got me to thinking about something.

A couple years ago I converted a large cooler to use special ice packs instead of straight ice. In order to do this I needed to line it with...

Re: batt post and jumpstarting

Here's a pic of my current battery (don't ask me why the dealer put a Delco battery in either... but I guess I didn't have to pay for it), I'm planning on adding a small amp for some speakers. Just...
