Re: 1995 SL1 exhaust fumes
The shop saying "it looks fine" implies they didn't do a smoke or pressure test on the exhaust.
There's nothing in the exhaust that's specific to Saturns that's common to leak.

Re: 99 Saturn SL2 SEC air SYS INC
"INC" means test incomplete.
You probably have not driven long enough since resetting the codes to get all the tests done. Usually need 5-10min of slower city speeds (40mph or under) and 50 miles...

Re: Yeah, but can it mow your lawn?
There's another guy (ThunderHead289 (https://www.youtube.com/c/ThunderHead289/videos)) that did a similar thing to a V8, think he said the MPG calculation came out over 40mpg.

Re: l100 swap into sl1
After you create the brand new mounting locations from scratch and meld the 2 wiring harness's together, it bolts right in no problem.

Re: Lights Dim at High Revs
I'd say it's alternator related but due to a worn out serpentine belt slipping on it rather than an actual alternator issue. If it's a neoprene belt it'll look brand new by 80's/90's belt standards...

Re: O2 sensor for saturn Aura XR v6 3.6L engine
Bank numbering is based off which head has cylinder 1. Sensor numbering is based on how close to the head it is, 1 is nearest the exhaust ports while 4 is nearest the muffler.
In an S-Series...

Re: Lazy and Thrifty Headliner Options?
Rent a shop-vac (it's a brand name, not sure what the generic name is). Turn it on and vacuum up the mess as you tear the headliner down, then use it to pull/scrape the foam off the fiberboard. Then...

Re: 99 Saturn SL2 ABS master cyl
Sounds like Rockauto sent you the non-ABS master cylinder. Good luck swapping it out or getting a real refund, you're going to need a lot of it.

Re: I'm in need of some direction.
If you want a reasonably priced intake, get a 10ft piece of 3in OD PVC from the hardware store, a 90, a 45 and PVC pipe glue plus a 3" round air filter like Spectre. If you don't want it bright...

Re: New Ethanol standard?
Why are you paying Home Depot for E0 gas? Just goto the pump like a normal person.

Re: Im back <3 with a fun one
Not sure why you replaced the O2 sensor when the O2 sensor removal test told you the exhaust was restricted.
If the exhaust is in overall decent shape (or at least weldable) and you have a welder...

Re: Right rear wheel-bearing replacement
Correction: The 10mm hex head is tiny for the bolt size.
If the head was sized properly to the bolt it'd be 13-14mm.
You can usually hammer the bearing out from the inside once the bolts are...

Re: Can I swap a sl1 engine into a sl2 car?
The DOHC PCM won't be happy running the SL1 engine but it will run the MP7 transmission.
The SOHC PCM won't run the MP7, at all. Trans swap is required and with the parts stated to be on hand that...

Re: Can I swap a sl1 engine into a sl2 car?
You'll actually be doing 2 things, in order to have a working car. An engine swap AND a transmission swap. Easy weekend job if you've done a couple and don't take a beer break (drinks sure, beer? no...

Re: Dorman shifter cable bushing
The bushing needs to rotate in a couple different directions, if you JB Weld it to the bushing it won't rotate the way it needs to and it'll break it's connecting to the shift cable. This can't be...
