Re: 2002 SL1 sat for 4 years. What to do?
I'm too cheap to put money on it, but I agree, add gas and start. Never had a problem with starting a fuel injected car no matter how long it's been sitting.
If I wanted to be super careful, I'd...

Re: PL20195 oil filter now 15K!

I'm old...

Re: Just Picked up a 99 SW1
Give the AC valve stems just a little twist to make sure they are tight. You can use needle nose pliers or a valve tool for bike tires to do this.
On my current Saturn, similar situation. Added...

Re: Can I swap a sl1 engine into a sl2 car?
YMMV, but IMO worries about old gas are overrated. I just add fresh gas and run the car. Worst issue I've personally seen is a a short period of rough idling. Though, first full tank of gas, I'll...

There's some actuator rods inside the door that are attached to the inside and outside handles, and door lock. They are connected by plastic bits that break.

Re: 97 died while driving
Serpentine belt and alternator?
Battery is only used to start the car. Once running, the alternator provides the power to keep the car running.
If the belt breaks or alternator weakens/dies,...

Re: SW wagon good for a long road trip?
The Saturn with the most miles that I am aware of was an auto trans.
To be fair, the owner changed the ATF every 10k miles. But the trans and engine were 100% original at the 883,000 mile mark,...

I think that may have developed as a "shortcut / eyeball" way of checking the top mount. The OEM Saturn method involved a ruler/straight edge.
I attached the TSB-01-T-30A for top engine mount...
