Looks like the current filter is an oem unit based on the numbers on the side. 21008019. And it doesn't look terribly old but I dont think they tend to rust like the rest of the underside does so...

I'm in MA so do deal with salt. But have run aluminized systems on several cars in the past without issue. Usually don't keep a car longer than a couple years anyway. Whatevers on now is plenty...

Its not loud by any means. No leaks of any kind. Car just passed inspection recently and I've owned it for a couple weeks now. Just ran through the first full tank of fuel and calculated mileage...

Figured id make a last update. Got the car all back together today. Put the manifold on this morning after cleaning the mating surface really well. Put a little rtv under and on top of the gasket...

Well the jb weld repair certainly won't win any awards thats for sure lol. Basically added enough to give more of a lip for the gasket to sit on but couldn't see a way of creating the entire wall. ...

So I went ahead and pulled the intake manifold this evening. Actually not that bad of a job. Once removed I immediatly saw the spot causing the misfire. And it appears I cut too deep the other day...
