Re: I'm in a pickle - Advice appreciated

Yes, don't forget about the "5 year" part of that warrenty.

I sold mine, even though I had plenty of warrenty left. I wasn't really worried about when it would fail. I've had trans go out before...

Here is one that I was thinking of....

Re: '03 VTI Vue...can I go with a different tranny?

Somebody did swap to a different tranny on here once maybe twice.. that I know of.

I think they were manuals, not autos. Both had the knowledge to tear it completely down, or knew someone who...

Re: VTI Failure

Have to admit that's pretty fair. $2450 is about the same or less than any other vehicle would be to replace a transmission.

IMO....
If your interested in another Saturn, ask about a trade-in.

Re: VTI Failure

Do a search here I seem to remember someone getting help after the warrenty was up.

Even if they do help you, It'd be foolish to keep it.

Best bet try to trade it to them, for something else.

Re: Aceco

If you were just moving it around on your property, then sure try it.

But a Vue in front of a 21' travel trailer, plus a load of people and gear
Imo, a Vue would look pretty small towing a...

Re: VTi Trade-in Strategy

I wouldn't think of selling privately, if they just found this website. They'd be madder than h:x .

I traded to a Chev dealer, I don't think they had a clue about the VTi.
At least they didn't...

Re: Canoe Carrier Attachments...dohhhhhh!

Huh? That's strange. They must have changed something.

That's one of the few things I really liked about my former '03 Vue.
I didn't need anything except a couple straps to haul my canoe.

Even...

Re: How should I drive

Huh?

Forward works best, although reverse can be fun, sideways is hardest.

Re: Low resale value?

That's going to happen to any new car. Buying and driving for only 1 1/2 months then sell is a loser deal.
You have to take the resale price then deduct the dealer markup so they can resell it,...

Re: General Apology Updated

Huge difference in possible transmission problems between a VTi Vue and a Chrysler mini van. The Chrysler can be repaired for a much more reasonable amount.

I've see people drive like that all the time.

Gets in front and then goes 60. I usually say something I think they should do....

Re: VTi transmission failure rate??

There are no hardnumbers available. They repair them till 75K or 5 yrs, probably cheaper than a recall. Some even had help past 75K, but I wouldn't count on that.

Seems everytime someone posts...

Re: Another Vti bites the dust

Why is that confusing?

A Vti is an automatic, there is no stick to shift, no clutch to push.
It's still an automatic as far as how it's driven.

But that one would be a Vti, so I wouldn't...
