Just wanted to post an update.
Cooler weather and cleaned battery connections seem to have made the dash happy.
My guess is that the cooler weather had a bigger impact than the battery...

I'm a no on that.
My theory was that if the OEM plugs worked just fine for 100k why change. Getting to the plugs was enough of a pain to risk having to do the job early.
OEM worked fine for me.

You probably have your answers by now but here goes.
The front engine mount does need to be removed to replace the timing belt.
The front and rear bank ignition modules do not interchange.
