On both my '97 & 2000 both lines were pretty similar. However, I Do
now recall that one (likely the inboard one) on my 2000 Did have a bit
more degradation, which I scraped off prior painting it.

During early 80s I replaced brakelines on a '73 Chevy pickup.
By that point I had discovered that the aftermarket lines from NAPA
began to rust after a year or two, while the ones from GM lasted...

A sniff at the rear wheels might help, unless they are totally rusted shut.
So maybe loosening MC mtg bolts, and pulling unit...

Then, Sl & Sc recovered in 2001.
