It's a glorified tire valve,...

Re: What makes the AC not cold enough?

Is the problem with your AC the air flow, or the temp of the air? When you do that, have the nose of the car pointed slightly downhill and try hosing off the evaporator

Re: 1998 Saturn Sw2 Door lock control rod

Oh, looks like you got it fixed. Good job and thanks for the info on the followup post. I thought you were still having an issue with a disconnected rod. Sounds like your original clip was missing...

Re: Saturn SC2 1996 Intermittent starter problems

+1

Almost everything is 10mm - that's your real workhorse, lol
I do recall a couple of 15mm items, I think they were suspension related

Totally worth it to get a good set of 6 pt metric...

Re: 1998 Saturn Sw2 Door lock control rod

Just to clarify - you are talking about the linkage that, when you pull the interior door handle, unlocks and unlatches the door?

I can't see a picture - is your example from a Saturn...

Re: Dip stick reading education..

Yep, and it really only matters in the context of figuring out how much oil you are burning.

like Signmaster said, when adding oil, a little more/less won't hurt. I usually keep my oil several oz...

Re: Driver wiper arm

Where are you located? Just happened to mention in another thread that I found 3 x S-series sedans at a JY https://www.catsautoparts.com/custom2

Never been there myself. But in addition to...

Re: Thinking about fog lamps

Looks like you found a nice set, looking forward to the install update :)

Yeah, I hear you, man. I only drove to the Parts Galores (90 minutes) because I had a whole laundry list of parts (was...

Re: 01 sc2 wiper arm replacement help

fetchitfido has a good point about the ebay costs.

Another good source is craigslist, used to see a fair number of "parting out" listings. Got some good floormats and other things using...

Re: Turning the air resonator into free under hood storage

cool project!

I don't know if it will fit, and have not tested long-term oil leakability, but for oil storage, I have been using a CoffeeMate non-dairy creamer bottle.

I don't like having a...

Re: Ten Years on a $1,500.00 Used Car

It's getting harder and harder to do, though. Can't hardly find them in my local JY, either.

I haven't had a car payment in a couple of decades, got me spoiled :)

I didn't mind having a...

Re: 99 SL2 rebuild thread

To be fair, your exhaust lasted longer than the Saturn dealer, so . . . :D

Nice work on your exhaust. Is that muffler rust where the mounting strap is?

I noticed that on both my 2nd and 3rd...

Re: Ever Seen One?

Never seen an OEM one. I've seen the aftermarket ones, years ago, not sure if those actually worked.

Unless I threw it out, I still have downstairs somewhere a kit that runs your washer fluid...

Re: It's been a pleasure - sold both Saturns

I was actually kinda daydreaming about buying a Focus with an automatic, then converting it to a manual. I'd find a manual trans Focus at the JY first, get all the parts needed, then look for a cheap...

Re: It's been a pleasure - sold both Saturns

Interesting stuff, thanks!

I've been trying to avoid auto/CVTs but in newer cars, might not be much of a choice.

Re: Back in the family, motor mount question

I would go to an auto parts store in your area and ask to see the mounts. Take it out of the package to inspect. Anchor/DEA /Marmon sold the top mounts, both the solid OEM (first/third) style and...

Re: P0131 code with hesitation when accelerating and poor gas mileage

Yep, that's my '98. You can see the white shrink-wrap showing the ECTS connector had been changed at that point.

The spark plug brand doesn't matter much, spark plug type does. Fine-wire/single...

Re: Possible Fix for Oil Burning - Scotty Kilmer

Is that code for, "who wants to be a guinea pig?" :D
I would, if I weren't working from home. My Saturn isn't even insured/plated these days.

MSDS, pretty uninformative:...
