Since we have had our 07', we have always had OnStar and I have used it to track the status of the oil life monitor. Now we are considering not renewing our OnStar. Is there a way to find out the...

Re: Vue brakes, not so bad...

In this case, I think there was enough pad transfer onto the rotors that I think that ws the bulk of the noise. I was totally shocked to see how much pad was actually left.

Vue brakes, not so bad...

Since I joined this forum, I had heard many stories about about how bad Vue OEM brakes were. At 43,000 miles we were getting enough squel that I assumed the wear indicators were starting to hit. I...

Re: SC2 no start

The coolant sensor fixed the problem! It took five minutes to install, and the car started the first time. I've seen bad coolant sensors cause an engine to run bad, but I had never seen one cause a...

SC2 no start

A friend of my wife has a 2001 SC2 with 179,000 miles that she drives occaisionally. The last few times she drove it, it ran good, but could be a little pesky to start. The car sat in the Indiana...

Re: Z-1 Transmission Fluid is Critical

The 4.5 qts. every 10,000 miles is exactly the interval I am using also.

Re: Coolant flush

Yes, 3.5 Vue's come factory fill with Dexcool, but there was quite a bit of conversation that Honda was less than thrilled with that decision, and if you buy a Honda with that engine, you get the...

Re: Honda Tranny Fluid Change

I don't think four years is anywhere near long enough to label a tranny bulletproof. Come see me when a bunch of people have 200,000+ miles on them. The first ones they built certainly weren't.

Re: Honda Tranny Fluid Change

OK, tell me this then. The Castrol is only a synthetic blend. Im suspect the Z1may be also. Does anyone know for sure? Also, from what I have been told, Amsoil says that their fluid will work for Z1,...

Re: Honda Tranny Fluid Change

I did a little poking around on some Honda forums, and it seems Castrol now has a Z1 compatible fluid, but there doesn't seem to be any real cost incentive to use it. (I saw prices quoted from...

Re: Honda Tranny Fluid Change

I never get more than 4.5 qts out of mine.... Around here, the Honda/Acura dealer is cheaper on the fluid than Saturn is.

New tire option for Vues

BF Goodrich has just released a "Long Trail T/A Tour" in the 235/65/16 and 235/60/17 sizes. Treadware is 580, traction A temp B, 60,000 mile warranty. Sadly, black letter only at this time. As a...

Re: Doing anything different because of $4/gallon?

With diesel fuel selling for the better part of a dollar more than gas in Indiana, and the price premium the manufacturers will no doubt charge for the diesel, how much money can even be saved? The...

Re: How has the new VUE be recieved

The new Vue doesn't get any love at our house. Everytime my wife sees one, she makes some comment about how much she hates them. I don't like them either. The original Vue was a trend setter. The new...

Best way to remove minor paint smudge?

Well, after 18 months and 15,000 miles, it finally happened. The Bus got winged in the door by another car door. You can vaguely see a straight line where the door first made contact, and then a...

Re: 2004 3.5 V6 - Tranny Fluid Service: Drain and Fill or BG Full Flush Service?

That's just hogwash. Heat is far and away the biggest killer of a transmission by degrading the fluid. ANYTHING you can do to reduce the operating temperature of the fluid is a good thing, whether it...

Re: R.I.P. "Vuetec" 2/22/08

Just looking at the exterior damage, two competing thoughts came to mind: 1) Gee that thing held up great to that hard of hit, or 2) That little amount of damage, and it's totaled? The downside of...
