Re: Trading 2002 LW200 for a 2005 L300: Good move?

If they do give you $7800+ for 2002 LW200 trade in, go for the 05 L300.

Re: How regualarily do you use E-brake :)

Always use it for Parking or Hill-start.

It's called E-brake because it is the ONLY brake you can still use when the brake lines are ALL broken (worst case scenario). The E-brake is using the...

Re: I am a dumbass. A real dumbass who wants to give some money away.

It's unfortunate, but is the engine running (or Key is ON) while you are fishing out the cap? I don't think the CPS line is HOT if the engine is not running (or key is not at ON position).

It may...

Re: New valve cover gasket installed

Properly torque the valve cover bolts back (it's in-lb) is also the key part. Over-tighten will not only screw-up the RTV/gasket, it might strip the cylinder head as well.....

Re: Proper brake break-in procedure

Mostly well said, S3aturnR!

However, you should also mention that before you SAVE, you have to INVEST first. Tools, Time and Space are the essentials for DIY. There's time that not everyone...

Re: Help...interior Windshield trim needed!!!

Go online or Dealer parts dept. and see if you can buy couple of these replacement clips to fix up the trim piece. Broken tabs on the trim piece is common in GEN-1 Saturn, thus they provide this...

Re: Upper motor mount OEM or Aftermarket?

For Upper Motor mount, always buy OEM only.
Buy it online like PeteB mentioned, price is close to aftermarket but quality is usually better.

Make sure the other 2 dogbone mounts (Lower motor +...

Re: shifter trouble

Actually it's always hard to shift into 1st when the car is still moving (even rolling slowing).....Saturn is no Porsche.

If the hard shifting problem happens at the car standstill consistently,...

Re: Poor Gas Mileage - O2 Sensor ??

Applefool is right.

You do MPG base on fuel the car has consumed, not how much it can hold.

Lower MPG rating not always direct related to your engine's health. A perfectly healthy engine...

Re: Washer fluid coming in the window on SL1

I think only the GEN-1 S car has this problem. The front windshield is curved in so anything from the front wipers will sweep into the lower door windows.

Starting in GEN-2 + 3, Saturn has built...

Re: Die cast L300

I was excited to see a diecast of L300 before.
However; after looking closely the actual model the craftmanship is so POOR (including low-grade materials and cheesy assembly) which can't justify to...

Re: Brake light problems L300

Hmm...but what's the point of carrying the Recall Notice?
The Cop(s) can still summon you for the brake light failure because you don't get it (the recall) fix right away.

However; even though a...

Re: Max speed in reverse?

I think the low speed in R is because the reverse has the lowest gear ratio, even lower than 1st gear.

Re: GM extends Employee Discount thru 9/2005

Actually the Employee Discount benefits MOST of GM's trucks sales only......I wonder how much sales did Saturn got from this incentives too. Probably LOW, because everyone spent for the SUV/Trucks...

Re: GM emblem

Talking about this, I don't know why Saturn comes up with its own Logo in such 'cheaper' way?

The original Saturn badge is more elegant/classy than today's 3D emboss? Saturn Logo....which looks...

Re: replacing radiator - what else should I do?

I would suggest you replace the Water Pump, Thermostat and ECTS all together with the radiator since you drain-out the coolant anyway.

When the water pump is aging, it's bearing will make more...

Re: Torque Questions

I'm not sure '99 DOHC is using which, but....

Take a look at your Throttle-body's install orientation.
Is it installed Horizontally or Vertically?

Horizontally = TB Hole is facing the Brake...

Re: GM emblem

If you realize, most windows/glass on the newer Saturn are all stamped the big GM logo on it. Like we don't already know Saturn is using all GM parts.

Guess that's not enough. The GM badge they're...

Re: Saturn Look-A-Like Revisited ...

Yea, look awfully like a GEN-1 L-series and ION.

Re: Aura base V6 and MPG

Aura will not be Polymer-skinned, so the curb weight will be in the 3500-3700lbs ball-park.

But the 31MPG is it Highway number only?
Anyone knows the Low-side of the MPG? Even 26MPG is good for...

Re: VUE rotors rusting and flaking -- WTF?!

Normal, it's just surface rust.
When it's time for new rotors, go get aftermarket brand which usually has a coat of paint to deter rusting on the edge.

Re: Dashboard Symbols Question?

Same to the VUE with Honda engine.
Floor the gas padel to reset.....

I prefer Words too. Symbols make me (and other car owners) wonder the meaning if not deciphered with the owner's manual first.
