Re: 2001 SL1 stalls slowing at a light, restarts again later

1-Consider a well worn ignition switch as a possibility since the main function of it is to route 12v power to the EFI circuitry in ON/RUN mode. An intermittent set of electrical contacts opening...

Re: 2009 Vue 2.4 ac fan

Fan ground may be the problem. While you found 12v on one wire, try tracing the ground wire or a continuity test (measuring for resistance on the ground terminal to chassis).

Re: No cold air

I can only guess because the engine died on the road and I had to call for a tow. My choice was to tow it to my repair shop I trust and used over the years on things too difficult for me to work on...

Re: No cold air

My replies are becoming less informative with more misinformation. Perhaps my seven decades on 'dis little orb we call Earth has already begun deteriorating of my mind. Mind you, I've never visited...

Re: 2006 ION Stalls when shifting into drive, but not reverse (Code P0700)

Is your xmission a conventional one or a cvt? The cvt doesn't have gears but uses an expensive segmented belt drive system with a pair of hydraulically controlled pulley shaves varying their...

Re: No cold air

dtuuri, with additional car history, I think you're less than a handful of vehicle owners willing to spend personal labor, time and money to maintain a vehicle well past its projected life....

Re: A/C Refrigerent Line Pressure Switch

With limited knowledge of mechanical engineering, there are two seals on each service fitting - the schrader valve and cap. The small surface area of valve core seal and seat, service valve cap using...

Re: No cold air

dtuuri, again my apology for the mixed post. :dizzy: My reply in post #7 answered two different posts and I didn't separate the reply into two posts. Please ignore the last two paragraphs. The first...

Re: A/C Refrigerent Line Pressure Switch

One last tip if not done already - use a new set of service valve caps with either a built in rubber washer or O-ring and screw them on snug. This way you'll have two seals, the service valve and...

My bad. Post #7 was meant for dtuuri with his '91. '94-'95 when r12 was switched to r134a.

Re: Water Pump Replacement/ Timing Belt 3.0

Without the serpentine belt on, the water pump isn't under any belt pressure. You should be able to grab the pulley hub with one hand and try rocking the pump shaft up/down/left/right. Good pumps...

Re: a/c went out randomly

If you can measure for resistance between the two pins on the compressor, it should be around 3 ohms. Be sure your multimeter reads '0' when touching probes together (when set for resistance...

Re: a/c went out randomly

If you are sure 14v on the compressor connector then the clutch coil thermal fuse blew. A thermal fuse is similar to a regular fuse except it opens when reaching a calibrated temperature. Clutch...

Re: A/c question

There's a point when refrigerant loss results in different operating pressures. Briefly put, normal system pressures will show low side between 30-35 psi while high side varies between 125-250 psi in...

Re: Water Pump Replacement/ Timing Belt 3.0

I'm not sure how one can strip threads unless rushing and/or the cover was bent to misalign mounting holes. The stripped bolt should allow pulling it out with vise grips then drilling for either an...

Re: LS Wiper Motors

Chaz9496, did you ever disassemble a wiper motor to examine internals? Do these motors use micro switches?

I tried this on a dead rear wiper motor of a Mercury Sable wagon and discovered it was...

Re: Water Pump Replacement/ Timing Belt 3.0

The wheel well doesn't allow access to removing the water pump. Saturn service manuals show and describe pump removal from above.

Re: A/C Refrigerent Line Pressure Switch

Performing ac repairs doesn't allow for experimentation that allows introduction to other issues. Taking short cuts doesn't work with refrigeration repairs. Connecting gauges allows you to monitor...

Re: LW200 with Body Control Module problems

Minor correction - GMs Tech II, not Tech 11. I bought a VCX NANO after seeing my wrench light cycling and unable to decode wrench errors with a generic reader. Not only did it decode the wrench error...

Re: A/C Refrigerent Line Pressure Switch

Disconnecting then reconnecting into an evacuated system presents issues. The manifold gauge set, if they're in good working condition, should retain their last vacuum measurement with both valves...

Re: No cold air

Were pressures measured with engine idling or at 2k rpm (service manual procedures)? Since no one drives at idle speed, compressors vary discharge pressures as engine rpm changes so 2k rpm is...
