my 01 SC1 just died with ~195k miles, compression was low on the number one cylinder, and after adding some oil to the cylinder, the compression jumped to 150psi. I predict bad rings!
Therefore,...

Re: Dipping Idle when AC turned on?
the secondary air pump turning on and off is indicative of a clogged air injection system. Anywhere between the pump output and the ports into the cylinder head can be a blockage. With some luck,...

Re: Fuel Tank Fitment
I'm home from work, and I have finally pulled the pump/sending unit out of the tank. There is nothing out of the ordinary, and no baffles, which explains why the fuel gauge is so sporadic on these...

I'm getting those steps from the AllData procedure that FetchItFido shared. In those steps it just says to be careful when pulling the fill tube out from the tank, making sure to keep it level. It...

I've got the replacement tank and neck sitting on my garage floor. I've also taken the donor pump out. It was a rusty one, but I managed.
I don't see any in depth step for attaching the neck to...

Re: Fuel Tank Fitment
luckily, i got to pick the exact car the tank was to be pulled from so i chose a 6/00 sl1. I'm guessing that's a 2000. The original tank straps are reusable. They even kept the pump and charcoal...

Thanks for your help again, oldnuc
I got the yard to pull the tank for me because I'm short on free time. I asked that the tube and tank be kept together because of what you said. I got there...

Strange, i don't see any screws or bolts behind the fuel door except the two 8s (maybe 10s) holding the actual door hinge on.

Fuel Tank Fitment
Hello,
A friend of mine accidentally screwed through the gas tank and now it is slowly leaking. I'm planning to go to the yard today and pull a tank, so which ones should I be looking for?
The...

Re: Trunk lid woes
I think I fixed the problem by removing the trunk light (w a broken housing), and disconnecting it. Maybe there was a short to ground.

Trunk lid woes
Hello again,
My 01 SC1 has been great recently, except one moderate problem:
The trunk latch system seems to be breaking. The trunk lid latches and stays closed, that's all well and fine, but...

Re: Aftermarket Radio Problem
if you have no solid blue wire coming from the pioneer on that model, the harness is wrong. I'd contact the place you bought the head unit from.

I'm presuming that you are not using any RCA outputs? Either way, check your ground first. Then triple check that the wire colors really do match. The Saturn harnesses can be a little confusing to...

Re: 2002 SL2 wheel grinding on left turn
it's likely your right front wheel bearing. Maybe you can grab a whole steering knuckle with a good bearing from a u-pull-it, but that can be a pain without some fair tools.

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...
Last night, the high output alternator went in without a hitch. I had to install a new turn-on lead, but the alternator maker included that. I not have an output of 230+Amps at ~14.4V. The overdrive...
