Re: Saturn Ion - Reduced Power Mode&Misfire

200k miles on a 14yr old car and normal weathering can create age related issues like dry rot in wiring and plastic not covered in new vehicle warranty programs. Tread lightly on brittle wiring.

Re: Saturn Ion - Reduced Power Mode&Misfire

Without a second person helper, a brick pressed against the gas pedal should suffice. Approximating pedal position should correlate with throttle plate position by experimenting with several pedal...

Re: specifics on compression testing, P0301

P0733 is a SES error code, not wrench error code. As mentioned previously, unless you have a better code reader programmed to read every GM code (P, U, B, C types) like GMs Tech-2 or an aftermarket...

Re: Saturn Ion - Reduced Power Mode&Misfire

Year, mileage, any mods done for performance? Hard errors won't reset with battery disconnect or push button reset from a reader/scantool. All you did was disconnect battery power and the error...

Re: Vent tube from gas tank is broken

You have options. First choice would be replacing parts if they're still available. Try several GM parts online sources for oem parts. They'll display whether or not specific parts are available or...

Re: 07 ion alarm is now going off randomly

You might find this problem not as common as you believe if you search past threads in these forums. Factory Passlock security have two functions; electronically disable the starter and flash...

Re: Strange P0300 occurrence

With the O2 sensor removed and the engine still running rough instead of clearing up immediately eliminates the catcon.

Spark plug wires don't have expiration dates and no one has proven spark...

Re: Bcm

Passlock security indicates one of four modes - off, blinking, flashing or on. When off, Passlock is disabled. When blinking after using a remote to lock doors, Passlock is enabled and on standby to...

Re: specifics on compression testing, P0301

If you don't have a better ($$$) reader or scantool to decode wrench light error codes, the cheapest alternative is repairing what's broke. If you can replace a burned out turn signal light bulb, try...

Re: specifics on compression testing, P0301

My limited knowledge of OBDII doesn't have any info stating resetting the engine computer triggers a wrench error/light. You can wander thru everyone posting threads about resetting their PCMs with...

Re: specifics on compression testing, P0301

Are you aware of removing the pcm fuse, battery disconnect or push button reset on an obd reader or scantool resets the check engine light and erases error codes? Any errors that aren't corrected...

Re: Strange P0300 occurrence

Well, it won't hurt to try testing for a damaged catcon. Ruling out the easy things is part of troubleshooting.

A relative bought a Mazda RX-7 at the height of its popularity. Due to high thefts,...

Re: Strange P0300 occurrence

Unless that gas station makes the news headlines of dispensing contaminated gasoline to every vehicle filling their tanks, it's not likely only your tank to have contaminated fuel.

Catalytic...

Re: Was told I have cracks in my Front Differential ? Should I be worried? 04 v6 3.5l

Not an expert on determining if cracks are genuine or false but there may be some ways in determining whether or not a crack in xmission cases are real or just casting marks appearing as cracks.

Re: Looking for an A/C compressor relay for 1996 SC2

1- don't use any store ac refill kit gauges to assess any ac system. Unless you're trained to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair any vehicle ac system, you're in the general group of second guessers...

Re: VUE V6 3.0 troubles ... help pls.

Re: Looking for an A/C compressor relay for 1996 SC2

You'll find nothing in mods to boost power unless you're willing to spend time and money for little gain on a low end product with a fixed pcm that can't be tuned despite many years of members...

Re: 2006 Vue

While limited to Saturns (supercharged 2.0L 4 cyl, 2.2L n/a 4 cyl, 3.0L V6, 3.5L V6 engines), none were made to have access to tuning with aftermarket tools. You can search other GM forums using the...

Re: CAR-CISSISM / vanity

My L300 is either gunmetal or pewter with silver flakes. If your Saturn has a hint of brown and yellow mixed with metallic silver then it may be GMs idea of metallic gold. 24 carat gold has zero...

Re: specifics on compression testing, P0301

Save your battery from grief - remove all spark plugs when performing compression tests. This removes useless compression straining the battery while allowing the starter to draw a little less power...
