Re: What size clips hold the air dam under the radiator?

Ions have push pins. Yesterday, I set an Ion air dam in the Recycle Bin. It sat there all day ‘cause the recyclers are suffering covert illness.
Maybe you were thinking of Ion air dams.

Re: 1998 SC2, MagnaFlow Exhaust Question

Okay, the good people at Magnaflow have replied:

Good afternoon,

The only difference between the two converters is the different grade so OEM to HM. OEM grade will be for vehicles registered...

Re: 1998 SC2, MagnaFlow Exhaust Question

UPDATE

On 4-27-2021, possibly because I am tooo:drool:stupid to comprehend their website and have no business considering a purchase of a performance product :D, I submitted a question...

Re: Tell me what you think of the exhaust

You saved big money. Well done
The welds changed the angle of the exhaust and maybe the rear part of the pipe is not where it should be.
There is enough room on the rubber doughnut...

Re: What is this and where do I get it?

Preston III, thank you. That complicates the heck out of adding HEPA to the cabin intake air.

Re: What is this and where do I get it?

Related Question:
If someone could 3D print an adapter, the intake for that debris filter for the HVAC system could be relocated closer to the right headlight and fitted with a HEPA filter.
Then,...

Re: Best tires?

BF Goodrich Advantage T/A 205 60 R15
The first 4 weren't round, until I ground them round. One was still too screwed-up, so I bought 4 more from a different retailer. After replacing the “too...

Re: 2001 Saturn SL2 wheel shaking noticeably over 50 MPH

To the OP, I am approaching the $300 mark from buying defective CV axles for my SC2.
What I need to do before installing the next set of CV axles is, add grease to the outer CV joint. There are...

Re: 2001 Saturn SL2 wheel shaking noticeably over 50 MPH

Do you notice a difference when accelerating on a curve, as opposed to accelerating on a straight section of road?
(Currently, my SC2 shakes then accelerating on a curve, but not when accelerating...

Re: Saturn jerks

Are the spark plug wires routed correctly?
That is the first thing I would check. These cars will run with the plug wires misrouted, until the engine just...quits.

Re: Death wobble at 40 mph and up

If you keep going past worn control arms, be sure to inspect a new CV axle before you install it. Evidently, they are very difficult to manufacture.
Take it out of the box and inspect it. If the...

Re: 98Sc2 Fuel tank buzzing sound not pump

The purge solenoid is on the back of the engine. Do you mean the vent valve or something?
Possibly:
I’m getting an intermittent buzzing from the exhaust system. The strap of the pumpkin muffler...

Re: Hey everyone theres a Rrock Auto close out sale !

Last week, I bought some stuff.
I might go back and get the Four Seasons blower motor because mine squeaks on “low”. I don’t know how easy it is to take one apart to oil it.

And set up shop at...

Re: 556,016 mile junkyard SL1

Scotchgard™ is your 21035599 floor mats’ friend.
The 21035599 are better in the summer because it gets so hot that any water under the mats will evaporate...and they do not get dirty.
They’re an...

Re: 556,016 mile junkyard SL1

The story could have been back-dated. You never know what antics the Amazing Internet is up to.

And, in a related story, I just bought another 21035599 to keep that new car appearance going :)

Re: Cylinder Sleeves

Inexpensive!
The sleeves are Outside Diameter 3.4810” or 3.4180”
These engines are dry sleeve. It would take a good machine shop to get a perfect fit.

I do not think there are any sleeves available.
I have a ‘98 DOHC block from an engine that was, evidently, severely overheated. When I had the block professionally cleaned, one of the sleeves fell...

Re: Smell of burning rubber while idling

I myself pinched a nerve when I slammed my head on a garage door while I was heroically cutting it off of the top of a car. A renter’s daughter did the 1980 Audi...

Re: Does this price make any sense?

The lack of corrosion under the hood means that this vehicle was not originally from Flushing, Michigan. A few pictures of the underside would confirm this.
The green grass means that these...

Re: My latest problem

Buy longer bolts. There are still good lead threads at the bottom of the hole.
Use washers to shim the long bolt to the proper length.
To insure happiness, carry an 8mm wrench in the glove box.
