Re: 16 x 6.5 ET37 Steel wheel

I do not usually shop at this place anyways, but try Walmart? It seems there is one listed on their website for $66.45 with free shipping to your nearest store. Weird. Try eBay, they are also...

Re: Should there be something clipped to this?

It is part of the intake manifold unit and is not used for anything. In fact, there are no metal contacts inside of the connector.

Re: Replacing TPMS

I bought four of the Schrader P/N 28078 back in January and had them installed with my new set of tires in August. All of them work great. They did not need to be programmed but the installer did it...

Re: Front Struts and hardware availability issues

What do you think about the KYB rear springs, P/N RX6232? They are replacements for the XE and w/o sport suspension. I think they are about 45 to 60 dollars less than a pair of OEM ones left in...

Re: Wanted: Astra Grill

I have the original one from my XE5 that I rebadged an Opel. Nothing broken on it, just very fine pits/chips in the chrome plating which are all over. Although you can not see them from two feet...

Re: I need a 2nd opinion on this Astra

Ouch... that's a lot of money. I might try my connections in Germany. One being my nephew going to school this semester in Hamburg who is his third year at West Point. Or my pen pal in North West...

Re: Headlight Assembly

I was going to write if you were closer to me (WI) I could try to help you out. There are a couple of good front ends of Astras out here locally. But the yard might move them at times and just plain...

Re: Saw another Astra today...

Occasionally I see an XE5 in town lately. It resembles my XE becase it is also blue but judging by the wheels, it has the sport suspension. Also last week there was a silver Astra on my street behind...

Re: How do you remove front headlight in a'08 astra xe? Need to reseal lamp

First remove the front grille, three screws on top and bottom tabs that pull up and out. There is a hex head screw on the top corner, remove it. Look for other fasteners. You must also disconnect the...

Re: Headlight Assembly

Yup, that is expensive. I looked and all the ones I saw online were north of a hundred and fifty bucks. Where do you live? There is an Astra in just about in every salvage yard.

Dizzy Re: How do you remove the rear brake line hoses?

Unfortunately it does not help AstraFasta. He only removes the bracket, not the brake hose from the bracket. Good video of replacing this component though, all of us Astra owners should get together...

I need to remove the rear brake line hoses from their metal guide brackets. There is one one on the back of each hub and others before that. The ABS lines are also on these brackets. There is an open...

Re: I need a 2nd opinion on this Astra

Where did you find the Opel valve cover insert? I have only been able to find the later Opel logo or ones not for the 1.8L. That is the only piece that I need to complete my conversion. Thanks.

Re: I need a 2nd opinion on this Astra

All XR models have the black out trim stickers on the area between the side windows. The XE5 model did not. Of course there was no XE3 model.

Thanks. I did also buy the seat back cover. There is a great, very detailed seat cover install post by phatfire6 from May of 2013.

Here are the rest of the pics and the links to where I purchased them. If you are really interested, make an offer, they should accept any reasonable, or maybe even an unreasonable offer.

Re: Bumper replacement

The 2008 Opel Astra 5 door is listed in specs as 167.3 inches long. The 2008 Saturn Astra is listed as 170.5 inches long. The N.A. Astra is definitely longer and no doubt makes it so from the...

Re: Bumper replacement

The crash bar would be larger, or more acurately deeper, on the N.A. Astras. This would be underneath the fascia and of course the outer fascia would reflect this. I remember someone sending me a...

Re: Replacement Seat Cover for an XE

I will make an offer on the bottom cover but maybe not on the seat back. That is if I can return it if the cover is wrong.
