I am a reasonable man and when I know there is a reason to speak up... I do. I don't have to be right every time, but I'll be damn if I purposely ignore the obvious! It's a vehicle nothing...

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

A couple of things...

1) If you don't address i.e. fix the oil leaks... you and your passengers had better where a ventilator while driving.

2) Get a fire extinguisher that can work on oil...

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

The color represents it's use. Don't ask if I know which one to buy. The color of the RTV I used was not red on the PCV Oil Separator . I don't remember which I used for what purpose. One type for...

Don't use caulk! RTV can be purchased from any auto part store. It's like buying toothpaste, you have to read and determine which one is right for each use. One is high temp and others resist oil...

Yes, it's RTV not atv like I listed. Man, I wish I could edit my own posts! Some entries I catch a typo, but I can't edit to damn thing! No gasket, it's RTV material which seals the PCV Oil...

I tried like heck to explain to you how to test an alternator, but you didn't do it. But then again we never heard the whole story so just like you we are shooting from the hip. In 10 seconds I...

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

I tend to only replace parts that are defective.

However, my current issues with our Saturn are going to require me to learn the IMRC system complete! Not happy! But, what I am not going to do...

Throttle peddle test refined...

Basic Theory: Take all those parts you snagged from the bone yard and put them on the gas peddle.

Here's the procedure...

Start Engine, throw all JY parts in...

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

Just like I said previously, the people who write manuals don't always know what they are writing about. The vent housing, PCV Oil Separator, does not have a gasket. It is mounted metal to metal...

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

Yes, they bolt have a PCV Oil Separator, but the hoses are much different. This might be correct for a later year Saturn VUE, but not the 2000-2001 L300. The diagrams shows two separate paths of...

Pliers alone can not clamp those clips because they can't force the clip to close. What to use is a Tile Nipping tool. They are dull so they won't damage the clip. They grab past the apex of each...

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

That's a good question. I haven't been able to find any diagram of the block to show where the two ports connecting to the PCV Oil Separator go. It is two separate ports. I do have a bore scope...

Are you sure those were fuel lines? Because the two lines which were bolted to the PCV Oil Separator module were actually water coolant lines not fuel lines. The fuel lines are no where need the...

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

I have spoken in depth about the core problem which is your engine is puking oil out of gaskets. You have not changed any gaskets and merely cleaning the excess oil off the engine is not going to...

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

I gather you are trying to get the oil cooling part off before you take off the injector intake. There are 6 bolts holding on the injector intake before you can get to the oil cooler.

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

You don't need to remove any fuel lines to get to the PCV Module. There are two coolant hard lines from the drivers side to passenger side. They start with short rubber hoses, then hard line and...
