Re: S-Series Spot and Shot
Wow, I rarely see any on the road in general down here in PA.
On my trip to Jeffersonville IN I only saw 1 other S-Series on the highway. Quite disappointing.

Re: AC Clutch Never disengages
My hoses used to bubble a little around the valve, you can try to tighten them a little or just put a small dab of rtv on the inside of the plastic cap. Beware this may make a mess if you have to get...

Re: Changing main bearings without engine removal
If the rod bearings look good, I would bet the mains look even better. Maybe replace the rod bearings and leave the mains, but if there is very little wear on the rod bearings I would be inclined to...

Re: Replaced Clutch and Hydralics Still Slipping
Make sure the input shaft seal is not leaking onto the clutch, because if it is you will encounter slippage. And to make it even better, the input shaft seal/bearing assembly is no longer available. ...

Run to Greble U-Pull it in Myerstown PA, I am sure there are a few S-Series there to pick from (I see you are near that area).

Two weeks ago I was fortunate enough to be able to bring Scott's 1994 Sl1 home.
For the remainder of it's life, it will be garage kept and driven occasionally (weather permitting). I intend to...

Re: Seeking a transmission recommendation.
This is not necessarily true, it depends on the hardness of the pin. Generally, the harder the metal, the more brittle it is. Nothing to do with whether or not it is a coil format.

Re: Seeking a transmission recommendation.
I will warn that the upgraded pin is not a definite solution, and the same goes for welding the diff pin.
I have blown a trans with a beefed up pin, it lasted maybe a few months of abuse on the...

Re: Mystery coolant loss. Head gasket?
The cap may be suspect, it is the cheapest part so I would replace with a good quality one. The purge line may be leaking at the fitting where it enters into the overflow tank.

Re: Output Shaft Quill Seal Qs
Not around here, a lot of S-Series are gone. I see one here and there on the road, maybe 5-10 in the yard with most being auto. The last 5 quill seals I pulled in the yard, I had to remove the trans...

Re: Output Shaft Quill Seal Qs
I have not came up with a solution for the housing, I have found a bearing and seal and figured out the loading inside the trans to confirm the bearing will be sufficient. The issue is the shaft size...

If he buys a CNC machine and is looking for some revenue, I may have a few projects if he is interested. Mainly things like intake manifold flanges and maybe a few brackets/ plates.

I have blown a trans with the upgraded pin, it does not help much. For a stock car with easy daily driving, it would be fine. But any spirited driving requires either a welded pin (which people have...

Re: P0300 & Lost Compression
I do not think that would cause an issue, and doing it on the GDI is a good idea. I have seen pictures of buildup on the intake valves and it sure gets nasty.
I am glad you gave the S-car a...

Re: P0300 & Lost Compression
Sorry to see that piston is damaged, I am willing to bet that detonation/pre ignition due to fueling issues contributed to the piston breaking and the head gasket blowing out.
Now, what caused the...
