Here is a thread on the subject.

Re: 2001 Saturn SL2 transmission trouble

Sounds like your transmission filter got loose and you leaked out the fluid. It's probably fine assuming they used Dex III. I'd replace the fluid and filter and call it good.

Sounds like a scam.

Re: Benefit to de-rusting hubs and rotors?

I'd do both - get rid of the rust scale and slap some anti seize or grease in between.

Re: Oil Pressure Lamp Won't Turn On Even With Good Bulb

Thanks, I did not know that about the 5V. From the schematic the bulb is lit by 12V.

Re: Oil Pressure Lamp Won't Turn On Even With Good Bulb

When I look at the circuit I'd say it should be 12 volts. I don't think we have any 5 volt sources.

Since you did not see any voltage, there is an open somewhere. Either the wire, panel, bulb...

And here is a picture of that:

Re: Oil Pressure Lamp Won't Turn On Even With Good Bulb

Like Bill said - a paper clip or something. Here is the schematic of the switch. The other side goes to the wire that goes hot with the ignition....

Re: Oil Pressure Lamp Won't Turn On Even With Good Bulb

Take the wire off the sensor and ground it to the block to simulate loss of oil pressure.

Re: How can I listen to 94FM radio in my car.

Hopefully everybody can see the subtle spambot clues here. Not sure if it will post links, or will reply to itself with another username, but I'd report them all.

We especially don't want BMW...

Re: Oil Pressure Lamp Won't Turn On Even With Good Bulb

Isn't the sender a normally closed switch? So if you unplug it and short to ground the light should be on.

Re: Log Books

On the '99 I had a logbook but eventually lost interest. My kid gained interest and has resumed recording everything.

Re: Painting the Headliner?

Easy to glue the fabric on. I've gotten headliner fabric both from JoAnn Fabrics and Amazon.

Just make sure to overlap the front and back edges by a couple of inches.

Re: 1997 SL 2 Manual Saturn Transaxel Question

Mine was 30K and then 204K. Generally not until you feel guilty, do some major work, or have a friend mistake the transaxle drain for the engine oil drain.

Re: Pulling SC2 transmission

We bolted ours together and dropped them in as a package. Ours is a manual, but once assembled it probably makes little difference.

Re: Pulling SC2 transmission

I may be wrong. Did some searching and it looks like you can pull the ENGINE out the top but leave the auto in. That's the reverse of what you want to do. Or the inverse.

Re: WTB S-series in MN, near MSP July 10 2021

macbox's SC2 may be better for you. Convenient, plus mine has a rusted trailing arm issue that I documented on my thread. Also I've got no AC, an EGR issue going on when I parked it, and a grindy...

Re: WTB S-series in MN, near MSP July 10 2021

I'd let it go. It's no longer registered though, which might make it harder to get to MN. I had a bad experience once with a buyer who didn't register a car I sold and he abandoned it on the...

Re: Satty- perfect jackstand/lift- Hope this helps someone

What I like about separate jacks vs jackstands is you have more points of contact. If god forbid something slips, you have something else to back it up. I taught my kids to be paranoid too.

I...
