2008 Saturn XE coolant leak?
Hi guys,

Have an 08 outlook. The coolant reservoir is empty but radiator has coolant in it (i can see it down there). Pressure test came back nothing. Topped off reservoir 2 days ago and it's empty again :upset: Any suggestions? Thought maybe it had an air pocket or something but I can't find out how to bleed it.

I am having the same issues. But I am seeing coolant occationally dripping on the driveway. Appears the water pump is leaking, but I am having a hard time telling for sure with the way it is buried in the engine compartment. I am at 52K miles

good thing is if it is water pump, head gasket or something serious warranty will cover it as long as under 100k miles...

I know this is an old thread, but I had my water pump fail at 38k miles on my 2009 Outlook. One warning sign it was leakin was that the engine fan would stay on after I turned off the vehicle. Didnt notice the leak till I was about to wash my car a few days later. Passenger side near tire is where the leak was dripping to. Got under car with a flashlight and checked the hoses around the engine block. Finally found that the leak was comming from the water pump. It was fixed under warranty.

Anybody pull and replace the water pump? Having the same issues, trying to see where its coming from; front (passenger) side of the engine, coolant running from ? and dripping off the oil pan just behind the mainshaft pully. How hard a job is the WP?

Had similar problem 3 yrs ago.

'My' garage did a pressure test which came back negative. But reservoir emptied again, although I was prepared with on board container of 50/50. And noticed (too much) moisture on cardboard under vehicle in it's garage spot.

Back again to garage, where some indication of moisture on bottom of WP.

So decided to okay them replacing WP.

After a couple weeks and another 3000km trip, reservoir settled down (air bubbles finally purged from sys, post-op'), and has held at appropriate level.
