Well, off-roading might be a bit of a stretch. We were in Ohio this past weekend for my sister's wedding, and visited some relatives who were staying at a nearby campground. Some of the RV sites were only accessible via short gravel spurs off the main paved loop at the resort. So technically we did go off road, but admittedly we probably didn't go much over 10 miles per hour...

There's something new in the SaturnFans.com family garage: a brand-new 2008 Saturn Outlook XR. My wife and I picked up the crossover a week-and-a-half ago in Columbus, Ohio at Saturn/West. The Outlook is our third Saturn and it takes the place of our first: a 2002 L300 midsize sedan that we bought in the fall of '01 to replace my wife's Mazda 626 that she had been driving since college.

Veterinarian Dr. Marty Becker and journalist Gina Spadafori from DogCars.com released their best not-a-large-SUV vehicle picks for dog owners. "Big sports-utility vehicles have been the dog-haulers of choice for years, along with minivans," they wrote. "But with gas prices so high, SUV sales are stalled as people look for smaller vehicles. If you can't fit your St. Bernard comfortably into a Smart Car, are there still choices for you? You bet."
