Update on SaturnFest 2009
Last month's announcement about SaturnFest returning to SaturnFans.com this October spurred a lot of questions from visitors who were interested in learning more about what the event was all about. I created SaturnFest ten years ago as a way for folks who could not attend Saturn's real homecoming to gather together - virtually - to celebrate the cars and company we all love: Saturn.
Over the years and time after time, it proved to be a fun way for everyone to come together online to learn about Saturn and share stories about their experiences as owners. The uncertainty about Saturn's future has made this a tough year for everyone in the Saturn community, so I hope that this year SaturnFest can play a part helping to unify the community once again.
Its important to note that Saturn owners-to-be who participate in SaturnFest take note of the festivities too. In years past I've received quite a few e-mails from folks who were in the market for a car (and on the fence about buying a Saturn) who said that the camaraderie displayed "on the fairgrounds" around the SaturnFans community was impressive. One went even as far to say that the supportive family atmosphere swayed him to go out and buy a new Saturn!
If all goes as planned, this year's online festival will be extra special: it will be the first official SaturnFans.com event held with Saturn owned by Roger Penske.
So, what can you expect at SaturnFest 2009? Here's a preview of some of the activities planned for the event:
- Parade of Saturns
- SaturnFans.com Tech Center
- Did you know?
- Survivor Saturn
- SaturnFans Theater
- Behind the Scenes at SaturnFans.com
- More to come...
Stay tuned for the next SaturnFest update with more details of the planned event. Keep up-to-date with the latest SaturnFest teasers, as well as the most recent Saturn news, reviews, and rumors by following SaturnFans on Twitter or by signing up to have the latest SaturnFans news updates delivered each morning directly in your mailbox. I have read many complaints about weight of the 08 Vue, but whatever they did to increase the weight was worth it. All the ruggedness they built into the 2008 Vue saved my wife's life. Friday night at 2200 hours my wife was returning to our home in Big Bear, a mountain community in the San Bernardino Mountains, when she went off the side of a mountain road. |
