Update on the SaturnFans.com Renovation

I'm still in the process of overhauling the entire SaturnFans.com website, but its been two weeks since the preview of the new site was posted, so I thought it was time for another update. A lot of work has been going on daily behind the scenes, as a number of new features are under development in all sections of Saturnalia. A few noteworthly features were added to the site this weekend that I think deserve to be pointed out.

Here's a look at what's new:

  • Popular Stories. Off to the right of your screen, below the "popular topics" section, is a new area dedicated to sharing the most popular stories at SaturnFans.com. The site will not only display today's most viewed articles, but it will also show the popular articles of all time (since January 7th).
  • Latest Viewed Stories. This personalized section will keep track of the last five stories you've read.
  • Google Search. Each section of the site has its own targeted search engine, but now you can search the entire site at one time using the new Google-powered search engine that's been optimized for Saturnalia. Whether you are searching for a particular classifieds ad or want to read what SaturnFans.com members have to say after test driving the all-new Astra, use the search block in the top right corner of the page to find whatever you're looking for. The "Google Custom Search" logo inside the search box indicates that you will be using the new search engine.
  • Old Content. I've hit a snag in my effort to move the stories from the old Saturnalia site to this new one. I was about a quarter of the way through and found a problem with the script that helps me import the stories. Unfortunately, I had to delete all of the archived stories and will be starting over again later this week. Once all of the old content has been moved, you'll start to see updates in the forum and photo sections.

Thanks for your patience, and your continued support! I really appreciate all of the feedback and nice comments you've posted and sent in about the new site design!
