fashions Junior Member Registered: May 2007 Posts: 46	the two slots are the only path for the oil to move down to sump. aftermarket pistons have holes drilled through the oil ring grove allowing oil to move inside piston too. My thoughts are it would keep the oil moving in the oil ring and slow down its carbonizing.
