Default 1997 Saturn sl-1 will crank but wont start

When I first cranked it up this morning it started for a second and then quit. It will crank all day. I checked the fuel pump fuse and relay. I can hear the fuel pump when the ignition is turned on. It has some relatively new coils and sparkplug wires. Can someone help me?

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Welcome to Saturnfans! Newbie mistake posting in the wrong forum - you should be posting in the S-series as your brethren are in greater numbers but either re-posting there or pm'ing the Administrator to move your post will suffice.

Cranking till the battery dies and assured of fuel pressure to the injectors is good enough to come right out with your crank position sensor (CPS) is the lazy one preventing an engine run. To be absolutely sure pull the #1 and #4 coil wires and crank the engine again; no spark jumping across the coils is another indication of a failed/failing CPS. It's located above and behind the starter with a single 10mm bolt.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!
