Welcome to the Board.

It could be any one of over one hundred things. I gave up counting the number of trouble codes wwhen I hit 50 and there was at least double that to go.

You are still under warrenty. Get the car to Saturn and let them check for codes.

the problem why the check engine light was on steady because the fuel cap faulty no good. replaced it with new gas cap and works good now.

You will have to have the light reset after making sure the fuel cap is on properly. The fuel cap is only one of, I believe, four problems possible with the fuel system. The light is really indicating an air leak in the closed fuel system. The cap could be the problem but not necessarily.

We have a SES light on my wife's VUE. It runs perfectly, gets the same mileage, runs the same temperature. Let's just say the light is on the back burner.

Well, problem solved. The light went out. Don't know when, as the female unit didn't notice (typical). Had to be the gas cap - she said once recently when she got gas she found the cap to be 'loose'. I had gassed it the previous time, but I don't think I would have not given it the obligatory five or six clicks. Maybe somebody stole some gas, who knows? In any event, the event is over.

Years ago in a rental Pontiac I had the light come on half way thru a trip. Rental agency said they would look at it when I got back.

The car came back all right, but on the back of a flat bed. Seems the light was calling out a torque converter clutch issue and 100 miles from home all hades broke loose as the clutch let go and took the tc and tranny with it.

YMMV.

There was a case here a couple of years ago where a young woman picked up a new car and was headed home. The service engine soon light came on and within minutes the car was in flames. She was lucky to have had the car 20min. It isn't something to sluff off.
