Differential Pin (DIFF PIN) Inspection
Let me start off saying this inspection method is but a few ways to inspect the differential pin. With the car on jack stands.I went under the vehicle and placed a mirror above the hole were the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) was removed from.As you can hopefully see in the video.The diff pin is the shinny round silver circle in the VSS opening(in the video it will look half round).What your looking for of course is that the diff pin should be flush with the housing on both ends.With the transmission in neutral i slowly turned the wheel till both ends of the diff could be inspected. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVpLPI-JVcM ... http://www.youtube.com/richpin06a Last edited by richpin06; 03-21-2007 at 02:33 PM..

Very Nice.

I tried doing the diff pin inspection before and I couldn't do it..I have a big head and theres just not enough head room for me to look into the hole..
... 92 SL2, 5 speed 91 Lx 5.0

ah nice very useful for me actually i need to inspect my differential pin very soon...may explain the reason i have no tranny oil. im pretty sure mine is out of place hence the oil leak but i dont think its broken...cuz theres no massive hole on the transaxle..ill have to inspect soon. So how much would a shop charge me to remove transmission and open trans axle so they can put pin back in place and weld it??? shud i also get a new pin??? but yea thanxs very helpful gotta fave the vid now
