Default Problem With In Dash Storage Compartment?

I was wondering if anyone else was having a problem with the storage compartment that is located in the center of the dash. Mine opens intermittently, it seems to be temperature related. If it is warm it opens easily by pushing the button. If it is cold it will not pop up and you have to pull it up to open it. I had it looked at by the dealer but they couldn't find anyting wrong. I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue.

The first time I test drove my vehicle, that compartment gave me some problems. It wouldn't open up on the first few tries. I worked (rubbed) the inner felt where the latch hooks-in and its been fine ever since. I wonder if this compartment is going to give problems because of the felt lining?

I store my glasses in that compartment and I've not had any problems with it.

I store my driving glasses and sunglasses in there as well. Any concern about overheating in the compartment?
