Default Which fuse is ABS? (see pic)

1995 SC2

I want to disable my ABS. I have read in one thread that removing the ABS fuse under the hood will do the trick. I am comparing the diagram in the repair manual with the actual box and it doesn't seem to match up.

Can anyone look at the photo attached and tell me which fuse is for the ABS? I have attached the diagram as well for comparison.

Also, the ABS and traction control work as they are supposed to right now. If I remove the fuse, and am not happy with the results, do you think the system will still work fine if I reinsert the fuse at a later time?

Thanks for any insight on this issue.

Well I don't know where you got that diagram. There should be one in the cover of the junction box though. I looked at a one for a '98 and it looks a lot more like your box. However, according to that diagram the ABS fuse goes in that empty socket by the fuse puller. It looks like yours is already out.

Well I assume you still have the cover for the fuse box since its clean and the surrounding area is dirty. Why not look on the bottom of the cover?? Or even the owners manual?

The only thing is with doing that, your ABS light will be on.. I did a test with my 94 to see what stops better to have the ABS or not to have the ABS.

I also noticed another large 30A fuse (#8) labeled ABS, along the bank on the right. Should both of these be removed? Just the 5A?

When i did the braking test, i only took out the 5A, and the ABS did not activate, how ever there will be a ABS light on. So if the light doesn't annoy you, that should be the fuse to remove.

Thanks, I tried it, and it worked. ABS light and Servie Engine light both remain on, but ABS is disabled.

Thanks for all the info.

I'm guessing the relay marked "GM ABS VI" is the ABS relay?
