Default high rev?

my sc2 is revving up about 500 rpm whenever I'm not on the gas.
any ideas on what's wrong and how to fix it?

ok... is it a sc1 (as in ur name and on the other post u did) or is this a different car? also is it a manual or auto?

also what are u talking about? lol is it when u first turn the car on its reving higher than the idle and then it slows down to the normal speed? if so then thats normal.

please try to explain the problem a little more

*this should probably be in tech and not mods btw.

...
mods i still need to do:

struts that can handle H&R race springs
rear sway bar
stiffer fstb (maybe)

what are you talking about? this is more than enough info to diagnose the problem!

so, he's saying EVERY time he's off the gas, it revs 500rpm more than where it was just at. does this problem continue with the key removed from the ignition?

2 possibilities.... either bad IAC valve or TPS sensor (1 of the 2 or both)

or bad alternator......

SES light on? Battery light on? If you're alternator is putting out less than 13v, it's bad.
Get a scan at autozone to find out, it's free, also get a charging system test there too.... also free.

Gotta agree X.... one question doesn't follow the other. Let alone answers given. Welcome to 2007 early, I suppose.
