Default What would cause my car to have no heat?

On my 92 SL2 when the car is running at normal operating temp, I turn on the heat and the temperature selector is all the way to the right in the red..It just blows out cold no heat at all..What would cause my car not to have any heat?? I know a heater core and thermostat could be the cause but what else?

If a flapper door in the heater core box isn't letting air through, that's bad news. If you have AC there are many more flappers and confusion and tightness in there. As you move the selector lever do you hear thumping?

The thermostat is probably fine as long as you run a steady middle operating temp.

Temperature cable come disconnected from HVAC controls or HVAC blend door cable
Blend door broken inside heater case

If you want to eliminate the heater core as the problem do this:

Warm up your car to normal temp
Find the hoses going to your heater core and touch them with your hand but dont keep your hand on them too long
Both hoses should be hot
If one hose is cold or semi-warm,then your heater core is plugged

...
Want more gun control? Then use both hands.
