I have too much mileage on my 2004 ION, I might be changing my leaser for a 2007 ION 2.4 w/sport package. Should i just wait in mid-of-next-year for the replacement Astra/ION 2008. I like the ION but not too sure of keeping it when the new model comes out.
What should I do? What do we know about the ASTRA--due date? I would appreciate your thoughts. ![]() Alex

I'd wait. I believe the Astra was arriving at the last quarter of 2007.
Can you wait that long? ... 2006 Black VUE Red Line

Breaking your lease is going to cost you money. Read all the fine print and find out exactly how much. How many miles over your allowed mileage if any ? That will cost you as well. Waiting may be the best thing to do, period.
Would the 2.4 ION and the 05-06 improvements be worth the expense, especially when you might get bowled over by the Astra when it comes out, yet still be upside down in your new 2.4 ION ??? Only you can judge that. Personally once this one is paid for, barring some catastrophe, it's going the distance and I plan to get every bit of value out of it. I plan on being that eccentric old man with that weird ION 20 years down the road.......... ![]()

Check and see if GM is still featuring the lease pull ahead program? We took advantage of that program recently and got a 2.4.....You just gotta like them there Ions!

Woah! I just took a look at your pictures and I'm assuming that this is the "leased" Ion you are talking about? Right? Please say no.
If it is, then mileage is not what you need to worry about at all. It would be the mass (and cool) mods you have done. Unless you can get that car back into it's original "showroom floor" apprearance do not break the lease and instead buy the car. Unless you leased it in this condition? I thought leases were for people who just needed a new car every few years like real estate agents, or for those who want to buy more car than they can afford. But certainly not for someone to modify it. Please help me understand this concept(?). I'm baffled to be honest and sincere (not bashing). But seriously, the Astra is going to be a brand new concept here in the U.S./Canada. I'd wait a year or two for the "bugs" to be worked out before leasing again...and think about purchasing instead.

Well thx guys for your opinions.
1• i like the ION concept, but i think the EURO wave is the way to go for north american cars. From what i understand our criterias are much lower than the rest of the world. Top gear keeps blasting OPEL and VAUXHALL, but here these cars seem to be above average ie. AURA-SKY. 2• I have 4375$can left to pay on my lease + 11 000? buy back. I also have 75000km in 2 years, so if i continue in that trend i'll have 150000km on 96000km (ouch) 0.15$/km that's going to hurt. 3• I own the silver ION, the blue is from a tunning car show here in Montreal 4• As of today my options are: 441/month on a 2007 2.4 ION 3 w/sports package or finding a 2006 (rare) -1000$-750$+4 winter tires. Anywazw will see what happens... thx guys i appreciate Alex
