Dizzy won't start when warm

My 95 SL2 won't start if the engine is warm. I have to hold the pedal to the floor and only then will it start. Suggestions?
Thanks

I have that problem, though not as bad. I don't have to give it gas, just have to crank it longer. A search of the forums has indicated that the ECTS may be the culprit, though that particular sensor seems to be the cause of many problems.

Perhaps it is the CPS (Crank Position Sensor)?!

Putting the pdeal to the floor doesn't do squat in a Fuel Injected car. Well actually it turns the injectors off in case the engine has been flooded. No start while hot is usually a bad CPS, or the early signs of a fuel pump on it's last legs. And just as a precautionary measure check out the ECTS, but that normally won't cause a no-start, it just screws everything else up. Make sure yours is brass.

In what order should I proceed?
CPS, fuel pump, ECTS?
Thanks

#1 ECTS. It's not likely the cause, but will cuase lots of other things, and if it's not the updated one, it will fail.
#2 CPS. It's a cheap, relatively easy part to fix.
#3 hopefully it's not your fuel pump, that's in the tank.

I have to agree with Uzzy. To replace the CPS and ECTS, you're going to spend maybe $50 if you need a new connector and an hour of your time. The fuel pump's around $200 and a lot of work.

You can turn your key to run/on (don't actually crank the car), also make sure you have the radio off, you should hear a buzzing noise, if you do, that's good, that is the fuel pump priming itself. Try this when the car is warm, like when you try to start it and usually have problems starting it. I'm thinking if the fuel pump were the problem you wouldn't hear it prime. Am I correct?! But I know the CPS is notorious for causing the car not to start when warm....so I think that is your main problem. However, you still need to check the ECTS, just to avoid ECTS problems. Those darn ECTS's cause alot of problems, but I highly doubt that is the cause of this problem.
