Default Need Second Opinion

This past weekend I replaced the right axle seal. In the process the lower two bolts on the strut were removed allowing the hub to be pulled off the drive axle. Now my father claims that it dosen't need an alighment, but arn't these two bolts that control the camber of the tires? I think I'm right that it needs to be realligned but would like another opinion as I drive about 150 miles a day and don't want to mess up my good summer tires.

If you etch-marked the position of the strut bracket relative to the knuckle, you MIGHT be in the ball park. Otherwise, yeah, get an alignment.

As long as your father is paying for your tires, no allignment is necessary. If you pay for your own tires, get an allignment, your camber is most likely off.

Technically, yes you need an alignment. But it could be back in the same position. It's not really crucial, to do it immediately, but it's not a bad idea. I'd wait for a shop to have a sale or something. A Ford dealer in my area was doing them for $30 a couple of months ago, and I had my sister take the SC for one after an engine cradle replacement. They screwed it up the first time, and it was worse than before. I took it back, they fixed it, no hassle, no problem, no extra charge or hard sell for another kind of servicing.
