I have a question concerning Factory/Over the Counter Dash trim kits. I seen the dealership installed kits, both in brushed aluminum and carbon fiber on the VUE's and I like the dress up it does for the interior. I know that personal preference matters, but has anyone purchased a aftermarket dash kit to install??? What troubles were encountered, did the pieces fit??.
I visited several websites: WOODDASH.COM, EXOTICWOODDASH.COM,and SUPERIORDASH.COM. Can someone help and provide a reputable dealer with affordable prices. Jerry

Real wood kits as well as real aluminum kits are available for some cars. The ones I have seen so far are not overly impressive. I saw a VUE with an aluminum kit at the dealership, and the quality was pretty good on that. I couldn't tell you what brand it is. I ordered an aluminum trim kit (fake) from superior because they go on and on about their high quality and they claim to be the OEM supplier to Toyota. All I can say is that there is no way Toyota would use a trim kit of such poor quality. It was also quite expensive and I can't return it so beware.
I wouldn't install that thing in my car so I thought I would throw some more money away and try another company. I ordered a kit from autodash.com and it was acceptable. It actually looks like brushed aluminum and the quality is better, but not fantastic. They sell three different brands at Autodash and I believe this kit was Woodview. I can look into it if anyone is interested. If I had to do it over again I would probably buy a real aluminum kit even though they are supposed to be a real pain in the ***** to install.

I won't touch the wood dash kit which is using 'Real' Wood. They're expensive and the patterns are not consistent, no woods are alike. Some companies use Syn Wood dash and the results come back good.
I looked at the dealer installed Carbon fiber and Aluminum kit on the VUEs too. The quality is acceptable but I'd rather buy the kit and install myself. As I realize a lot of peeling gaps and misalignment in the dealer installed one. For some people they're very subtle and no big deal, but no for me though.
