that may work. I'm guessing you didn't get the fuel filter from Saturn that includes the tool used to disengage the filter from the hose.

nope, the only time i ever get parts from the stealership is when autozone doesnt carry it.
my neighbor came home and i just used his disconnect tool, but it didnt work... i actually broke it, one side of it anyways. what a pain in the ass there is a different size on each end of the tool so i am gonna keep trying with the other side but it doesnt look promising. looks like the filter won't be getting changed after all

i was changing the oil and spark plugs too so at least i got something done.
maybe i will just pay someone to do it, if i have to buy the tool and do all the work to get it out i might as well save myself the trouble and just pay someone else, it looks like a real pain anyways

I used two small screwdrivers on each "pin". Got one pin started (pushed out to where it wouldn't be "clicked" in place) and then pushed the other one while separating the line from the clip with my thumb. Not a big deal.
Just make sure you have relieved all of the fuel pressure and have something to soak up all of the gas that will come out. I did it in about 20 minutes.
