Happy Looking for tires for the Vue, got me to this forum!

Our family currenty has 3-2005 AWD 6 cyl Vues. We love Saturn, but we did not like the tires(Bridgestone Duellers) that came with the Vue. Trying to find replacement tires was difficult because of the size! I read some of the forums comments on tires for the Vue and came up with a Cooper Lifeliner SLE,70K Tread which I bought for my car. If they work better then the Bridgestones I will buy them for the other two. Has anyone else had these tires before? I'll keep you informed as the miles progress.

Welcome to the boards!!!

A few have used the Coopers, and so far I've only seen positive reviews. I believe Michelin has finally produced a tire in the 235 size.

How many miles are on your tires?

You can also consider slightly changing the tire size. 215/65-17 are pretty close in diameter, and has a few more options.

Suggest visiting TireRack.com. The best part of this site is the reviews that have been written by folks who have a particular brand/model of tires and can usually find them on a similar vehicle. I have purchased several sets of tires from TireRack and never disappointed.

I posted this in a Vue Tech thread by mistake, but here is my experience so far:

"I put Cooper Lifeliner SLE 235/60R17s in my 04 AWD about 3 weeks ago. So far I love them - much more quiet than the OEM Duelers."

I'll add -> I have the crappy GM radio w/XM. I used to have to crank it to hear Opie & Anthony over the tire noise, but now I can hear their sillyness just fine!

Michilean LX4's are superior to the Dulers. They have a 500 A A rating .vs a 360 B B They come the exact size as the OEM and they have a $50 rebate on a set of 4. Look at mavistire.com for a link to the rebate. I missed the rebate but got 4 insta;;ed and balanced for $96 each. They ride better and it rained near me today and they were excellent.

I personally never had any problems with my Dulers on my 03. Got 40,000 miles out of them and never had a problem with water, snow or road noise.

You may be the exception, walt. I got 41k mi out of the duelers but only because I was lazy about replacing them. They were thoroughly shot by 35k. Past that I had problems with hydroplaning and I had almost zero snow traction. I replaced them with Pirelli Scorpian STR's from tirerack.com and I'm very happy with these tires.

You'll see the difference when you replace them (I did when I got the LX4's). I had no problems with the Duelers but the LX4's are better in the rain (Today was the 1st good rain) and ride much better than the car ever did with the Dulers. The LX4's have an A Traction and temperture rating while the Duelers were only B B. My Dulers had tread but inside was filled with cracks so I replaced at 31,000 miles.

Agreed. That's what I'm using on my Vue and I'm quite happy.

Our dealer is basically giving LX4 away. Our supplier was trying to move "some" inventory on the 235/65r16 size so we just bought all of them at a great price.

My Duellers were shot at 35K. I got the Coopers and have been happy. A much better tire, IMO.

I'm on Hankooks Ventus ST RH06 from www.1010tires.com I know Ventus are hard to find in the US, 1010 delivers to the states (they are in BC, Canada). They are really good, great cornering on dry and wet pavement, and they look really sharp.

Welcome to the forum. Keep us updated on how those Coopers treat you. I'm only at 13k on my tires but would like to not have to rush do a bunch of research come the day they need replaced.

Complained to dealer about how bad the dulers are, still no luck, they hav 6/32 for 19K but they slide sooooo bad. I just ordered the Coopers, I hope they are better. Dealer said will install for free so I guess saved me 40 bucks.

Anyone had any luck with the Yokohama Geolander HT-S in size 215/70 16?? With over 47,000 worry free miles on them, the OEM Duelers on my wife's '03 Vue are about finished, and I'm eyeing the Yokohama's (mostly good reviews online). Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Cool Re: Looking for tires for the Vue, got me to this forum!

I just got rid of my Yoko Geos. I had them for a year but even with proper rotations they develpoed uneven treadwear and made an annoying "waa waa waa" all the time.

I replaced them with Goodyear Integrity (if they are good enough for the Lexus SUV and the Honda Pilot then I thought they would be a safe bet) I never go in the dirt.

What a great quiet smooth ride.... speed bumps are much less noticible.
Seems to take highway clover curves just as aggressively as ever.

I replaced my 235/65-16 Duelers with 215/70-16 BF Goodrich Long Trails. So far so good. They seem to work really well in rain.
