Question Vue oil filter

Does anyone know the availability of premium oil filters for the Vue 4 Cyl.? I know it is the same engine as the 4 cyl. L-series.
How does the OEM filter compare?

Go to the dealership. It is the same as the L series filter and just as big of a pain. The quick lubes won't replaced or can pinch that rubber o-ring gasket for the filter cap. So save alot of frustration and go to the dealership.

Big pain? It's one of the easiest filters I've ever changed. The only pain was finding a socket that was big enough to fit the filter cap, yet short enough to have enough clearance from the intake manifold. I picked mine up at Ace Hardware, and I think it was a store brand.

Do the changes yourself and have the satisfaction of knowing the job was done right and not wondering.

There was another thread on L oil filters that said the Saturn brand was as good as the ones you get at the parts stores. The original specs made it sound like they werent, but after some digging, turned out they were the same. Make sure you have the right filter though. There were some L's that had ruined engines because 4cyl filter were in 6 cyl engines or vice versa. If you get your filters at Saturn, you know you are getting the right one.

The quick lube near me has the filters but wants and extra $6.00 for JUST the filter so it would be $25.99. I got STP 9018 that is for the 4 cyl. Cost is $3.50 at Autozone. I don't have the specs. I'll be doing in a couple of weeks so (if not to cold) on my own. It's so easy (On the 4 I cyl. L series never had a problem with the ring falling off. Has to be the easiset car to change your own oil. Just have to get that big wrench. Costs me $10 and takes about 15 minutes. No ramps needed. I do all my own changes except in the cold. The dealer I 1st went to wanted $8.07 for the filter. The one I go to now is $4.99. I have 3 of the STP filters so may use the Saturn filter when I run out.
