2006 VUE 2.2L
Idea New Spy PICs of the Outlook

New Saturn Outlook Spy Photos
Courtesy Americancarfans.com

In late 2006, Saturn will introduce an all-new crossover SUV, the Outlook. The new Outlook will be substantially larger than the Saturn Vue, their only current SUV, with the Outlook seating up to 8 passengers in three rows of seats.

The Outlook will be based on GMs Lambda platform, which in future years will also be used for several other vehicles including a replacement for the Buick Rendezvous, a replacement for the Chevy Uplander, and a new crossover vehicle for GMC. GM has so far not given out any details about engines, other than to say it will have the capacity to have both V-6 and V-8 engines.

Those are different wheels than those that were on the other spy testers, could it be different power plants (i.e. V-6 and a V-8 tester?)

Sit down and hold on.....I agree with you. I am curious as to how they are going to incorporate the new Saturn 'image' into this crossover, but alas, it is an SUV and I wouldn't own one of them. My new favorite movie line is from "Over the Hedge" when one character asks another upon seeing an SUV for the first time, "How many humans can you fit in one?" Bruce Willis' character responds, "Usually, just one." Perfectly true 90% of the time.

I see Pacifica-like proportions. Cannot wait to see it with the camo off. I've been thinking of getting a Ford Freestyle, but if the Outlook offers similar functionality and a better driving experience...

Why is there no Outlook forum here?

Not that I am interested in an 8 passenger vehicle, but as much as I want to see the finish trim that will distinguish this as a Saturn, I also want to see the price and fuel economy numbers.

Thumbs Down Re: New Spy PICs of the Outlook

These pictures prove that Saturn assimilation into GM is nearly completed. "Resistance is futile!"

There is probably a better chance of GM going bankrupt than this vehicle being made. Any doubters can check Relay sales:

http://media.corporate-ir.net/media_...eries_0306.xls

(At 400 units a month I guess GM could make back the costs of "tooling" on those Saturn badges for the Relay?)

Why buy a cloned/rebadged Tahoe (or Envoy XL?) at full price when the Chevy will be heavily rebated?

What kind of "Different kind of car" is this supposed to be, anyway?

Grrrrrr!

How do these photos prove anything other than that is rather heavily camoflaged and you can't see much of anything other than the general shape. And if you would read a little bit elsewhere on the net, the Outlook is in no way related to the Tahoe or Envoy. It is built on a new platform, and is not body on frame construction like the Tahoe or Envoy. Just because it isn't a rattley plastic bodied oil burning S-series doesn't mean it can not be a Saturn.

Ummm unless I horribly misread that data, Saturn "truck" sales are UP 25% over last year this month...and SUV (not mini-van...the Outlook is an SUV) are also up, despite the Relay's dismal numbers....

Relay 500 1,179 -57.6
VUE 7,581 5,284 43.5
Saturn Total 8,081 6,463 25.0

The Relay has the problem of competing with its CHEAPER Chevy Etc..badged "twins" Provided the Outlook does not...sales could be in line with what the VUE is doing...which are UP over this time last year.

If you compare base models of the GM vans the Relay is cheaper (similarily equipped Relay.2 and Uplander Base). The problem is models with more features, where they are a lot closer in price.
Where is everyone seeing these individual model sales in that link? I'm not.
