Mad '98 SL1 engine to SC2 trans trouble

I recentle swapped th SOHC engine from my wrecked '98 SL1 into a '98 sc2 which had the DOHC. The engine runs great, but when driving it the trans will not shift unless the I let off the gas completely, then when I try to give it gas it upshifts. Could this be due to different PCMs?

You cannot use an automatic transmission from a DOHC with an SOHC engine. The PCM controls the shifting and the gear ratios are different. You must have put the PCM from the SOHC or the engine wouldn't run.

Actually the SOHC engine runs perfectly with the DOHC computer. The only problem I have is that the trans won't shift properly. When I replaced the speed sensor with the old one from the SL1-which is in poor shape-it still had the same basic problem, except that it stayed in second for a little longer. All of the shops I ran this by said the speed sensor was the most likely culprit, and the PCM next. I am going to replace the speed sensor first, and then move on to the PCM.

BTW I did not hook the DOHC trans to the SOHC engine. I left the original on it seeing as how it was recently rebuilt.
