Has anyone heard or read about what kind of sunroof the Aura might get? I know some one with the Aura's sister car, a Pontiac G6, that has that "armadillo" style sunroof. Its been in the dealership 5 times already for leaks and electrical problems. Plus, there's no way to just vent with it, its either open it all the way or closed all the way.
I'd love to get an Aura but I need/want a sunroof. If its that lousy multipanel one, that'll kill it for me.

You can get the panoramic sunroof or a regular sunroof on the G6.

I would assume the same for the Aura. The pictures on Saturn's website has an Aura with the panoramic sunroof.

In the photos featured on Car & Driver TV, the Auras shown all have regular sunroofs, and not the panoramic sun roof of the concept. If you closely at this photo, you can almost make out the regular sunroof. So sleep easy, the Aura will offer a regular sunroof. I'd rather have that instead of the panoramic sunroof, too.

I think this is a new Saturn Aura concept because the one at the Chicago Auto show has the same panoramic sunroof and if you look closely you will see a small rear spoiler on the Aura as well as the hood scoopes look different to me. The Saturn Aura at Chicago also has the rear spoiler. I can't tell if the Aura in the picture has the GM badge on the side but it looks like it.

As long as it not the same supplier who built them for the old S series I dont care.(This is suppose to be funny,if you have a S series with a sunroof you will understand).

I agree. The Aura will likely have both as options. I like the Panoramic sunroof; you may not be able to "vent it" like a normal sunroof, but you can just open one section of it.

As for the roof itself, the G6 I mentioned in my original post, is owned by a coworker. He's only had it 3 months but its already been in the dealer 6 times (as of Tuesday) for the various panels leaking. Two servos/motors/power units/whatever have burned out so the roof wouldn't open all. Once, it fried half way through closing. That panoramic roof is a piece of junk, really lousy design and engineering.

That's exactly why I wouldn't get one. Even before reading any reports of owner complaints, I took one look at it and said, sure, it's a neat idea, but getting that thing is just asking for problems! Even with decent quality control, it's sure to be a headache at some point. Without decent quality control, it sounds as if it's a headache from the day you drive it off the lot!

As a loong time owner of an original s car. I remember well the complaints about the car "peeing " on you. After a rain, you open the door, sit down, and the water on the roof, collects and runs down right on to your legs before you can pull them into the car. Now all cars seem to do this some what. "No-roof-drain-rails" is all the Aerodynamic fashion. Dont even talk to me about my trunk lid dripping water.
So, does the all rain water on the panoramic sun roof dump in to the car? If I only open my sun roof to the vent postion it allows the rain to run off. I may just go to a Pontiac dealer to see if this is problem and how it is handled. Why is there no vent position? ... A Saturn owner since 10/91. Its not a "peeing" problem on opening, its the roof sealing when its closed. There are so many joints and meeting points in the roof that my coworker's G6 has had leaks in at least a dozen different places that have dripped from the driver's lap and over the shifter to the back seat cushions. The problem seems to be that there's just too much that has to seal.

On the G6 they offer panoramic and regular sunroof. I know this will be the same for the Aura. A lot of people on G6ownersclub.com have problems with their panoramic roof. My fiancee's doesn't have that problem. Being an 05, she does have some problems, but not that one.
The panoramic does have the first panel lift up, then the next 3 panels tilt up and slide back. My fiancee bought hers with ~50 miles on it straight off the lot last Feb. Now a year later and almost 12,000 miles later, she doesn't have any problems with that still. I still think they are cool, but if it's too much more expensive, I wouldn't consider getting it. I am curious about the wheels on all the concept cars. Do they 19" chrome wheels come standard or would those be an option? Will they even be offered? I think that is what makes the car in my opinion. I don't mind some of the little changes that I've seen so far (the center stack with the digital display going away, and the titanium). As long as the exterior pretty much stays and as long as the wheels stay, I'll be happy. I won't mind paying about 200 bucks a tire since I will have winter wheels and tires as well. But if anything drastically changes, then I'll go buy some other GM product. Also, is the body going to be metal or Saturn's famous panels? ... 07 Cobalt LS 4 door - Ultra Silver - Auto - 35% tint - Injen intake - ARK short antenna - ARK FSTB - MTX X Thunderlink - Eibach Sportlines - Debadged Wife's DD: 07 Aura XR w/ Moroccan Brown Leather

Well I knew they would be, but I wasn't sure which vehicles they would end with. So I'm guessing that new SUV that is bigger than the Vue will have metal body and I'm willing to bet it's a cousin to the Envoy and Trailblazer.
I haven't really read anything lately because I've been preoccupied with my fathers death and trying to get back into a "normal" routine. ... 07 Cobalt LS 4 door - Ultra Silver - Auto - 35% tint - Injen intake - ARK short antenna - ARK FSTB - MTX X Thunderlink - Eibach Sportlines - Debadged Wife's DD: 07 Aura XR w/ Moroccan Brown Leather

There's a couple new SUV's coming. The Outlook is like a Chrysler Pacifica or Ford Freestyle. It's not an SUV in the true sense of the term though--it's a crossover. The next VUE will be larger than the current one (making it a midsize) and be similar to the Opel Antara. Then another smaller SUV may come into the lineup to fill the gap. ... "It's a car.
