Default out of gas

Can someone describe what a person feels when a fuel injected engine runs out of gas. Does it sputter line a carburated engine, or does it just quit as if the ignition is turned off?

Nevermind. I just found out that it will sputter like a carburated engine.

I am trying to troubleshoot a car that just stopped running like the spark was disconnected, but also had a gas needle near empty. The care is home now and I can start troubleshooting the ignition and fuel systems.

I ran out of gas in my 98 SL2 when I first got it and yeah it sputtered and even shook a little. I never let it get that low again.

Thanks, it looks like an ignition problem since I have no spark.

If you re posted this in the forum part of this website that corresponds to what type of vehicle it is (S-Series, ION, L Series, Vue), you might get more results... just a suggestion
