I have a 95 sl2. I just finally hit the speed limiter on the bypass the other day and it was kickin down at 112. I still had 1500 or so before redline in 4th gear. Didnt even need 5th. I was pissed. I dont know anything about reprograming a PCM, but can you do it so that only the speed limiter and the and 4700 rpm limiter is gone but the redline limiter is still there?

  1. The Saturn PCM can not be reprogramed for that
  2. Why do you want to get rid of the neutral (4700 rpm) rev limiter?
  3. The highest you can get a Saturn up to is 124mph by using a SC2 PCM or one from a SL2 or SW2 that had higher speed rated tires from the factory.

not sure why you'd want to go much faster in a saturn. I've had mine to 124 a few times, and she's just a-howlin! :P

your limiter only needs to be as high as what you reach by the end of the quarter mile. Most of us are driving cars with aged suspension parts that i would not suggest testing at any high rate of speed. Why on earth would you waste 10 minutes of your time trying to reach anything over 100mph anyways?

Removal or changing of the rev and speed limiters is simple - install a standalone engine management system such as a megasquirt. There is no "chip".

give me a reason you need to go any faster than what you run in a quarter mile...

and please dont tell me you're using a dyno run as an example of how fast your car goes from 35 to 100

when the flow of traffic is 90 in the slow lane and 110+ in the fast lane on a 2 lane divided highway, thats scary **** when you know your car is limited to 106.
