I guess I could make a little thread about my car and just update it when new parts come in.

I took some pics so I wanted to whore and give a little info about my car.

Mods:
17" Rota Slipstream - Royal Black
225/45/17 General Exclaim UHP tires
Sprint Springs
Tsudo 2.5" catback exhaust w/ 3A Racing 3.25" tip

Future Plans:
Injen Intake
Header
Zex Wet Nitrous kit
Rear Swaybar
Front Strut Tower Bar

Enjoy...hopefully I will be updating this again early 2006.

id say dont even touch nitros, its really unecessary, go for a nice suspension system.

Nos is like cheating in a video game, youll get through it faster and easier but you could end up screwing up the game. I had a friend once who had nos in his mustang. he took his car to the track and was testing it out. then something ***ked up and the car went nuts and his hood blew off. When they went to retrive the hood (he was fine, no injury) there were six holes punched straight through. they never found the pistons.

Oh and I'm not worried about missing pistons and my hood flying off , I only plan on running a 50-75 shot. I don't think its cheating at all, infact it will serve me well since more often than not I wont be racing so my car will be damn near stock without the nitrous.

And if u check my future mods suspension is still in my mind yes. I would love something like Tein basic coilover kit, I wish it was available for us. That combined with a strut tower bar and Redline front and rear swaybars (or a good equivalent) I'd be good to go.

nope they do not, I would need 5mm spacers to knock the offset down to 40mm since the wheels are a 45mm offset. Knocking them outwards 5mm would probably allow me to put them on, I think I will end up doing it eventually.

And the Sprint springs were advertised as a 1.75" drop. There is about a 3 finger gap between the tire and fender.

thanx, you answered a question i've been wondering--how it looks with a 225/45 tire on a 17" rim. how does the car feel with those off the line? also are those wheels 7", 7.5", or 8" wide?

it is a 17x7.5 wheel...I noticed a slight improvement over my stock wheels in acceleration but nothin to write home about, it was probably more attributed to the tires anyway.

These wheels in 17" form weigh 20lbs, not sure on the stock wheel weight but if they are lighter than the 16" wheels (which I'm guessing that they are) and them being pretty much the same overall diameter (wheel and tire) I'm hoping I made a slight performance improvement.

FINALLY, an update to this. Today my Injen intake came in from Turbo Tech Racing and I installed it ASAP.

The car has gotten noticeably louder as well as a slight increase in performance. I've only driven it a couple miles since the install though. I can't imagine how much this thing would scream with a header.

Oh btw, I have no clue whats coming next mod wise.
Pacesetter header, TWM short shifter, JS STB and Progress Rear Sway Bar? These are all the things I'm looking at next mod wise...

About the 6 holes on the hood I believe it to be user error
Nitrous is pretty safe ( If you know how to use it) I run a 50.0 shot and it works great I got a 2 car lead on the 1/4 against an SI wagon 04` with equal set up.

Ion just want to let you know about another header option. I taled to Matt grom Gravan and the will be getting a header with high flow down pipe and cat hopefully by the end of this month. It will be made by vibrant. No word on price but Im sure it will be cheaper than the sms one. I wouldnt get the pacesetter header just seems like to much tweaking to get it right. Just m 2 cents

I just pulled the wheel liner back...I had all that resonator crap taken out before so all I had to do was connect the filter. So I just pulled it back enough to be able to put the filter on.

It wasn't that hard, it took me somewhere under 2 hours to install, clean off my engine bay, and take pics. I'm pretty slow at everything I do to a car though so I'm sure it can be done in less time.

I did find out one thing though, the MAF is removable...I thought it was molded to the airbox and Injen came with its own but the Injen just has a spot for it to go and you remove it from the airbox and reinstall. Learned something new...

I think the Pacesetter will fit fine, plenty of j body guys have installed them with 0 problems. I'm sure the same would apply to us...

But I've seen the Vibrant stuff for the RL and I believe the header ran somewhere in the $700 range. I don't wanna spend too much on NA mods because I know the real power gain is gonna be from the nitrous...

If you have common sense and know what you are doing, none of which applies to your friend, it will work fine.
