Default Flashing battery light not fixed by new battery.

I went for the easy fix by buying a new battery but that didn't do it. Before I go pulling the alternator could a loose wire cause the battery light to flicker on and off? I know this may be an obvious question but I guess I really wondering if this might be a common issue with Saturns.

Did you get the battery tested before you bought a new one? Advance auto parts or autozone should test it for free...

You can also get the alternator tested in the vehicle.. once again for free at AAP or autozone.

If the alternator is orignal, change it.

I'm with amazinghl. A loose wire could do it, but with that milage; I would not doubt if your alt. **** the bed.

Read up on what the "battery" symbol means in your owner's manual.

Hint: It's a battery charging problem.

Yes it could be a loose wire, but at both the alt and battery they screw/bolt on rather securely. My bet is on the alternator itself.

Hey i had the same issues on my 2001 saturn LW200 and its the cable near the alternator the plugs into the Alternator, that is loose, that gives you the light, near the front of the alternator is a wire that you need to check, that its pluged
