Default Random Smell? Any Suggestions?

Hello everyone.
I have a 2004 Silver VUE 4Cyl Manual with the Sport package. What I find kind of random is about 25% of the time when I pull in the garage (and other places) and turn off the car... there is this weird sulfur smell. It's really a gross smell (If you know what sulfur smells like) and I have no idea what it is... Any Ideas?
Sorry if this sounds weird, but even some of my friends recognize it too!
Any Ideas/comments?
Thanks!

egg farts

Cars used to do that alot, back when they started using catalitic converters back in the 70's?.

Haven't smelled it in years though, I guess they figured out how to make them different.

But yes, my Vue has let an "egg fart" a couple times in the garage. But only a couple times.

Ugh It's so obnoxious. I can't stand it... oh well...
I assume there is nothing I can do? Maybe If I let it run for a second or two before I turn it off?

It could be (just a guess)

With the gas shortages and price spikes this summer. That they let up on some of the gas requirements this summer. I know some places where loosening the restrictions.

My Vue made that smell. I took it in thinking it was the tranny or differential burning up. It smelled the same as when I changed my rear differential gears on my 70 camaro. You never forget the smell. Techs said is was a plastic bag stuck on my exhaust. Yeah right! after 8000 miles i stilled smelled it. I got tired of the run around and figured it would reveal itself eventually before the warranty ran out. I suspect its your catalytic converter or burning fluid somewhere. Better check it out... the smell i noticed came a few thousand miles after they worked on my catalytic converter. Its not a strong now but I still smell it...

My first guess is probably a batch of bad gas. My second guess would be the catalytic converter. My third guess is that Halloween just passed, it could be a practical joke. maybe someone put eggs in your vents below your windshield.
If not, then keep the egg in vent joke in the back of your mind until someone pisses you off. OMG it really stinks. Everytime you turn the AC on or the Heat on it smells like Ass, and it doesn't go away for a long, long time.

My 03 does it to. It's most likely the cat. converter, Stinks like rotten eggs.
Nothing to worry about unless its all the time, then something is not working right. Every once in a while is normal IMO.

My BMW M3 did it all the time when I backed up in the garage, I was told it was the gas during the winter time, When I put a cat back exhaust on it never smelled it again, even tho it had same cat in it. I never noticed my vue doing it as I put the cat back on it within weeks of purchase....
