Default does disconnecting battery 'reboot' PCM.

There is freguent mention of pulling fuses to reset the memory on the PCM. Will disconnecting the battery accomplish the same thing?

I have had my battery disconnected a few times all ready; radiator replacement, and then when dealing with SIR at all.

I have replaced my ECTS and I am supposed to reset the PCM for that, right?

Well there's resetting and there's RESETTING. Taking loose the battery cable will clear the current codes. It won't clear the code history. However, it's enough for an ECTS replacement.

When replacing ECTS, I take it, that it is strongly recommended that the PCM be reset.

I've not done that. Comments ??

Not really. It'll be fine reset or no.

I think it's a good idea. As the pcm is used to adding more fuel than needed, resetting it will have it relearn a bit faster. Certainly not necessary though.
